You sound insane and entitled. You want to sentence teachers to a life of indentured servitude because they sure as heck don't make any money? |

I would love to teach and I volunteer at my sons elementary school as often as I can (at least 3x s a month.) as well as at the local high school as a mentor. But the pay is WAY too low for me to switch jobs. Op wants a slave for her precious snowflake. we need to pay teachers more, reduce their busy work (hours spent inputting assignments that your kid should be keeping track of) and reduce class sizes so they aren’t just doing crowd control. Unless you are at every community meeting fighting for this, OP you have nothing to say but should offer her a nice going away present for how much you appreciate her time spent with your son. |
Nice gaslighting. |
Entitled so entitled! You have to love Fairfax County ![]() |
You can think whatever you want about people's obligations, but the fact of the matter is that a contract can't force you to work, because that would indeed be slavery. It can impose consequences for not working, but teachers will always be allowed to quit. |
Can we also add to show appreciation for the teachers that are remaining/replacing? Maybe assume positive intent from teachers and not threaten to raise petty issues to the administration? Reinforce the importance of respecting teachers with your children? |
How quickly you forget. Yes they did. In January of 2021 when vaccines first came out, it was going by age groups (eldest first). Teacher unions complained and then suddenly they were made a priority. Teachers got to go earlier than my elderly parents. Then, schools still didn’t open up, and when they did, our kids were subjected to this 2 days in, 2 days out virtual hybrid nonsense bs. And many teachers didn’t come in to teach in person for the rest of the year, despite being fully vaccinated in January. Shameful. |
Maybe it’s a good lesson for them to learn young. |
+1 NP here. ITA. So many parents in this area are control freaks, and not everyone has to cater to you - sorry, not sorry. Better the kids learn early. |
Maybe she's about to TTC. Maybe she's afraid being denied care if she miscarries, since that seems to be the road Youngkin is taking us down. |
Everything you just said is a lie and absolute bs. |
DCUM 2020: "Just put any warm and able bodied adult in the classroom to get kids in school!"

I got my first shot at the end of January and the second at the beginning of March right when schools reopened. Not sure what you're talking about. |
OK. Is the teacher supposed to care about your opinion? |
