DP. Santa isn’t religious. He can go to any house he wants. |

Please cite the part of the Bible that talks about Santa. |
That wasn't me! |
There is no part of the Bible that talks about Santa, correct. I don't see how that conflicts with my statement that he has nothing to do with Judaism. |
Replying to myself to add that my only post that dealt with Easter at all (other than the ones about that post) was the one at 22:06, before which there had already been a few others in a back and forth about Easter and taunting. I have also posted saying that I don't think any non-Christian kids get taunted around Christmas and that OP doesn't need to worry about the whole thing. |

Why make such a big deal?
Every religion has some celebrations What about the kids who get nothing at Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, don’t get to celebrate Eid? |
Sure, he can, since he's totally imaginary and he does whatever parents tell their kids he does. I'm just curious why other Jews engage with him. To me, he seems inextricably linked with a very specific Christian holiday, even if it's also taken on lots of secular trappings over the years, so we don't do Santa in my household and I basically profess ignorance about all things Santa-related so as not to get into discussions with my kids about whether Santa is real or whatever, since I don't think they need to be telling their friends he's not. |
Correct. |
Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Eid aren't in everybody's faces for months. |
This. So weird when Jews participate in the lie of Santa Claus. I got 8 nights of presents at Hanukah; a lot of my Christian friends were envious of that! But it would have been strange if they started receiving Hanukah gifts from their parents. |
Well...Santa is a version of St. Nicholas, a character originating in Western Christian culture. |
I guess he is a fictional character with supernatural powers. Definitely some parallels there. |
St. Nicholas was a real person, but that was centuries ago and he never rode around on reindeer and ate your milk and cookies on Christmas Eve. |
How so? Stores celebrate anything, just to make money, that is a retail thing Tell me more? I do not shop often so am not that familiar |
