The red wave rolls through Guam as Republicans pick up their first win

The U.S. territory sends one nonvoting delegate to Congress, and that delegate had always been a Democrat going back to 1993. That is no longer true after Republican James Moylan defeated his Democratic opponent and became the first GOP pick-up in Congress and just the second Republican ever sent to Congress by the island.

Thoughts?

Apparently, the red wave didn't survive it's trip across the Pacific, did it?

"moderate 'Dem'": I'll always have the headline from Guam 2020.

It was a transient algal bloom.

I, for one, look forward to the new emphasis on Guam as the hallmark of national election predictions. Thanks for the tip. I think now is the part where right-winger patriots explain to the "Dems" what we did wrong again? Something like that? *checks notes*

How many MAGAs does it take locate Guam on a map?

That's a trick question, unless you specify in advance what date you are talking about.

Manchin warned them for a year straight.

We did this to ourselves and it's going to be more awful than we can imagine.

Yeah. Turns out, the average Joe does not like inflation, or having his toddlers masked, or gender ideology pushed on his teens. Amazing, isn't it?

This post did not age well.

Where have all the MAGAs gone?

Are they trying to figure out where Guam is?

Just like we don't think it's healthy to engage in an echo chamber here on DCUM, neither should anyone think it's healthy in government. When did politics become a full contact sport, winner take all, fight to the death? My god, when we did we decide our way was the only way and all others be damed. We are a sick society. We are governed by hate.

+1

And to the pp bemoaning politics: it’s the GOP. One party is does everything to cheat, push the envelope, make life terrible and use their corruption to enrich themselves. Just one party has been openly advertising that they want to dismantle democracy and uses stochastic terrorism to foment violence and a hot civil war. Just one party tried to overthrow the government and works with Russia to win. Just one party has no platform and no plans to help global warming, which, like it or not is the biggest issue of our lives. (And just one party has a documented and massive problem with pedophiles, rapists and domestic abusers in their ranks who are not expunged from the party but celebrated.)

And that OP on this strand will read my post, shake her head and lump me in with the thugs in the GOP, saying “you see! We are governed by hate! Because one person online told the truth about what the GOP is doing, that’s the same thing as the GOP’s actual crimes. Politics of hate.”

The both sideser are going to put America in the garbage.
