Just like we don't think it's healthy to engage in an echo chamber here on DCUM, neither should anyone think it's healthy in government. When did politics become a full contact sport, winner take all, fight to the death? My god, when we did we decide our way was the only way and all others be damed. We are a sick society. We are governed by hate.

And to the pp bemoaning politics: it’s the GOP. One party is does everything to cheat, push the envelope, make life terrible and use their corruption to enrich themselves. Just one party has been openly advertising that they want to dismantle democracy and uses stochastic terrorism to foment violence and a hot civil war. Just one party tried to overthrow the government and works with Russia to win. Just one party has no platform and no plans to help global warming, which, like it or not is the biggest issue of our lives. (And just one party has a documented and massive problem with pedophiles, rapists and domestic abusers in their ranks who are not expunged from the party but celebrated.)

And that OP on this strand will read my post, shake her head and lump me in with the thugs in the GOP, saying “you see! We are governed by hate! Because one person online told the truth about what the GOP is doing, that’s the same thing as the GOP’s actual crimes. Politics of hate.”

The both sideser are going to put America in the garbage.

X a million.

I'm the PP "bemoaning politics" and yes, re-reading that it sure does sound like I'm a both sider. It was written in haste and I absolutely blame the GOP. They are the winners take all, fight to the death I was referring to. But you're right, I wasn't clear. That was exactly who I was referring to. I agree with you 1000% percent.

I’m still a little too pissed at the “mainstream” media for driving the same message - though slightly subtler and with a lot more concern trolling - for the last few months to enjoy a giggle.
