No, he lives in Falls Church. Fox 5 has video of the incident and, at least in what we see here, it doesn't look like he put his hands around the guy's throat. Just pushed him a little.

https://www.fox5dc.com/video/1126634

Just pushed him a little is also called assault.

Possibly, but the original tweet says he "allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat". I don't see that happening in the video. I am not arguing that the guy shouldn't be charged, just that the reports of what happened should be accurate.

The tweet reported what the victim claims. How is that not accurate?

Obviously what the victim claims is not supported by the video. Instead of arguing with me, watch the video yourself and tell us what you see.

"allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat" -- It was alleged by the victim. Whether the video backs that up or not, it is the claim of the victim. The victim statement was reported. Are you calling the victim a liar?

All I am saying is that the video does not show the victim being grabbed by the throat. I am not sure why you are making an issue of this. Just watch the video for yourself. If you watch and think that it shows the deputy mayor grabbing the victim by the throat, come back an say so. Otherwise, you are just wasting time.

Do you know if the video shows the entire interaction? You seem to be making a lot of assumptions.

I have been very clear what I think. Watch the video yourself and draw your own conclusions.

I have watched the video. It does not show the beginning of the interaction. I think it’s premature to draw any conclusions as a result.

He apparently was charged with assault. Prosecution seems unlikely. But he’s a 53 year old public official with anger management issues acting the fool by putting hands on someone's. He needs to find other employment.

Or jail.

He barely touched the other guy who seems like a whiner looking to litigate.

He touched the guy. Not sure what video you watched.

It’s a simple assault with no apparent injury. Prosecutors aren’t going to seek jail time. Most likely probation, if anything.

This looks like a case where a nolo contendere plea + anger management classes = record cleared in 6 months

Before landing the deputy mayor job, he led the city’s Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency for five years. He resigned in 2017, shortly after an office of the Inspector General report concluded he had committed ethics violations.

Failing upward. I gather he is going to be the next mayor at this point.

And the Mayor hired him still? This says a lot about her than him. Smh

why is our mayor so clueless? This clown was pretty much "asked to resign" from heading up HSEMA becuase of shady contracting and getting his wife a job with an HSEMA contract. Investigation by OAG. and what does the Mayor do? Oh lets hire him back in an even higher level position as a deputy mayor. What could go wrong?

Yes but this will live on via the Internet forever which is a beautiful thing.

The most disturbing part of this video is that the “victim” is parked in a handicapped spot AND backed in. Who does that? The whole point of a handicapped spot is that there’s room to open your door and get out!

No doubt that parking in a handicapped spot is pretty tone deaf in this instance, but most disturbing part?

He’ll get hired by the Hagertys, Dewberrys, Accentures, Deloittes of the world.

I find it interesting that no one else brought this up about the alleged victim parking in handicapped. Where are the disability advocate groups?
