You chose to register as an independent. Nobody forced you to do that.

DP. I deregistered myself. It is crazy to me that there’s an automatic assumption that we must belong to a party.

So why are people complaining? It isn't the dems fault that the republicans are useless and incompetent in DC.

I don’t want to belong to a party. It’s become a machine and there are middle of the road stances on issues

I'm an independent too. I'd like to see our city move to the system that Alaska now uses.

The Home Rule Charter requires that at-large council seats be filled on a partisan basis.

Pretty rich that the guy whose candidacy wouldn't exist were it not for dark money complains about campaign shenanigans.

Here’s a thought. Robert White seems capable. Would he run as an Independent for Ward 1 Council in November?

Nadeau has a poor track record and runs on slogans and ideology. She’s tarred so many people as “racist” and cop-lovers that, b/c she’s white, I don’t think she has any room or capacity for issue-based reasoning. She’ll just pander to what she thinks people want, and it’s really not the populist potpourri she espoused

He would prefer to have a political career and shot at mayor.

I’m curious. Is there any law that would stop the likes of Goulet or Czapary registering as independents and running in the general? They would look like giant schmucks granted, but is there anything that would stop them other than their own integrity?

Seriously. Matt Frumin’s supporters made him want to get more involved in neighborhood issues in Ward 3?? Right because you didn’t pay any attention to them earlier before you ran to represent Ward 3!!

Wow, that deteriorated quickly.
I'm really worried he might still win - 900 votes difference with 4,000 left to count.

He is already a city wide at large councilmember...why would he do this?

Goulet had a two point lead at the first release. For every release after, Frumin out polled Goulet. Given the remaining votes are from the weekend and Election Day, there is virtually zero chance of this happening.

Eric, I had a very positive impression of you at the beginning of the campaign, but wow, you are really a sore loser.

I am curious as to specifics of what "Frumin Supporters" did to sour your milk.

. . . and this was in response to a challenge laid down by Henry Cohen asking candidates to say just one nice thing about the other candidates. The most telling response is that about how he is newly motivated to participate in community issues in Ward 3. It seems that the irony of that tweet has escaped him.
