Who will win today's Ward 3 Election?

Anonymous
Post your candidate on who you will think will win and why.

I'll start.

Candidate: Matt Frumin
Why:
https://dcgeekery.com/dc-campaign-finance/2022/council-ward-3
Based on the above link, Matt had the most donations to his campaign. So even before Tricia, Ben and Henry dropped out, I thought he had the edge to win.
Eric came on late with donations, but his donations are all over the city, while Matt has many more Ward 3 donations.

But now that Tricia, Ben and Henry dropped out and supported Matt, I predict he should win.

Would love to read everyone's predictions and the whys

I’m finding this one very hard to predict because of the Post endorsement, which still carries weight in Ward 3. But I think Frumin for the reasons OP cited.

I held my nose and voted for Goulet. Mde the decision this morning. Super angry about his Foxhall schools position but Im hoping at the end of the day, he doesn't have much of a say over it and was just pandering to FCCA. I liked his Wapo and Police Union endorsements.

I didn't vote for Frumin because I'm concerned about making the already too progressive DC Council even more so. And anyone who gets the WTU endorsement is out in my book following the school closure/masking debaucles. I don't need another rubber stamp for COVID school hysteria. Frankly Laura Fuchs tweets in support of Frumin are what ultimately turned me off.

I would have voted for Duncan, ftr.

Based on everything you wrote, it doesn't sound like you made your decision this morning. Nor did you answer the question that OP asked

Original question was: Who do you think WILL WIN? Not who did you vote for. You can add who you voted for, but I'd also like to know who you think WILL WIN.

PP here. I looked up the endorsements this morning. I made my decision at the ballot box. It was a struggle because I like Frumin, I think he is more personable, I think he would be an effective councilmember, but not in the way I want him to be. Goulet comes off as a creep, but I prefer his positions (with the exception of Foxhall).

I predict Frumin will win.

I feel the Fru-mentum.

I was at the Palisades Farmers Market on Sunday. Frumin, Thomas and Goulet were there. Thomas had a couple supporters. Frumin had a big group of about a dozen supporters, they were all people who were obviously connected because lots of people kept stopping and shaking their hands and talking with them. It seemed like a big party.

Goulet was alone, and left about ten minutes after Frumin's posse arrived.

I think there's zero danger Goulet will follow through on his campaign promises on schools. He clearly doesn't really care one way or another.

Same here. I didn't vote for any candidates who were endorsed by the union, and never will again.

I think Goulet barely wins partly due to the votes for Tricia and Ben before they dropped out.

I was offended by Silverman's shady hidden poll. We don't need anymore far left progressives on the Council. That is the reason I voted for Goulet.

FWIW-I would have voted for Tricia over Goulet if she were still in the race.

I think I read only 1/3 have voted in early election. And I do think about 90% who voted for Tricia and 90% who voted for Ben will vote for Matt.

He hasn't been mentioned much, but Beau Finley could grab some of those votes that were going to Tricia or Ben.
But not too many people are mentioning him....cause he probably wont win.....

Who gets the Eric Cohen voters?

Despite what you read on here, Goulet is actually a very mainstream and popular candidate. And he will win.

You realize Goulet did the same thing with a DFER poll, right?
