Definitely not.

No. Too personal. Only on DCUM can I tell the entire truth about my experiences as a wife, mother, and black woman.

Nothing you do online is anonymous. Nothing.

Yes good point: if we have known aliases, threatening to tell MILs with no boundaries that Larla finds them annoying could be very lucrative side revenue for the web site owner.

I understand things can get heated when talking about politics, for example, but even posts on mundane topics become a battlefield. Twice in recent weeks I posted completely innocuous comments in discussions and someone responded in such a sarcastic manner that I didn't go back. I've seen people who post a question about a health matter get ridiculed, and know not to open some threads because it is so toxic. I wonder how much of this is attributable to just a few people (there does seem to be some commonalities) but surely no one has that much time on their hands. I also wonder if they are like this in real life, which is kinda scary.

It's been like this for at least 9-10 years. This forum attracts narcissists.

Sometimes I wonder if the Urban moms of DC understand how the internet and social media works. Content which is more outlandish and shocking will get more views and responses, thus generating more revenue. It’s the same principle on DCUM, Facebook, and TikTok.

I just want to know who was searching for belly dancing lessons. That belly dancer ad took up permanent residence on my launch page. Reminded me to search for an old favorite song, Mambo Craze β€” Buddha Bar. Rip it up. Oh look, the orchestra is playing. Dance with me George!
