Philadelphia breaks all time murder rate

These so-called crime victims should be apologizing to these activists who are rightfully exacting justice in real time. They've learned from years of rhetoric now that they are owed this compensation and they're just eliminating the middle man. I don't see a problem.

None of this changes the fact that cities are overall much safer then rural areas. And generally the larger the city the safer to live in. If you get killed by a driver on opioids on a rural road or by a stray bullet in a gang neighborhood, you are still dead either way.

Just something to think about, go back to your political rants. I just think people focus on the wrong things, it should be scarier to drive on a rural road then walk down an urban one but people just don’t think rationally about these things.

Philly is amazing.

Don’t listen to the racist big lies- city never safer, more vibrant or more prosperous.

Do you really not know that rural areas are the most dangerous places to live, wow. The biggest reason is cars, but there are others, I thought this was common knowledge of you read now and then.

DP. Find us a recent (2020/21) study that backs up your claim - not one from 2013.

Tell you what. I'll take my chances walking alone down the street of a small town as opposed to doing the same in a large city.

Well most criminals are young men, usually starting as teenagers.

We just closed schools and sports/activities for over a year, 3 million kids disappeared from the system, and I’m sure not all of them to private school/homeschooling. Many kids on the edge of poverty and life of crime had no reason not to succumb to it.

No one in most circles wants to talk about it bc the Democrats caused most of it.

Think this guy just got his mind blown by a 2013 study, but still can’t believe it. It’s been like that for decades maybe longer, don’t think a couple years has changed it, the difference is huge. Car deaths have increased since then and drug deaths as well, those are both much higher in rural areas. The opioid crisis probably made it even worse in rural areas.

Here’s a 2020 study, not one almost a decade old. Prepare for your mind to be blown:

Urban Residents Report Largest Increase in Crime

Americans who say they live in a "big" or a "small" city are significantly more likely today than in 2020 to indicate their household was victimized by crime. Thirty percent of city residents, up from 22% in 2020, say a member of their household was the victim of one or more of the seven crimes. The current figure is also higher than in 2019 (26%).

Nineteen percent of both suburban and town or rural residents say their household was victimized by crime in the past 12 months. Both figures are lower than what Gallup measured in 2019, though for rural residents it is slightly higher than in 2020.

I live in a very rural area having moved from the DMV.
Nope. This area is a whole lot safer than my suburban VA home was. Roads are incredibly safe.
And, your whole "driver on opioids" scenario is derived from some stereotype you have of people who live in rural areas. Seems to me you would be more likely killed in a metro area by a 20-something professional high on cocaine simply because of the traffic.

I think the Latin American countries have a healthy balance….. rich folks don’t drive into the urban core in fancy cars and jewelry worth more than 10x annual wages and expect to never have a crime experience.

Masters of the universe showing restraint is a good thing. A healthy thing.

We are moving towards a more perfect equity.

Irony.

Rep. Scanlon is one of 125 co-sponsors of the Mental Health Justice Act, which aimed to place some police officers as first responders with mental health specialists. All of the bill's sponsors are Democrats. The bill's text says its purpose is "To authorize the Secretary of Health and Human Services to award grants to States and political subdivisions of States to hire, employ, train, and dispatch mental health professionals to respond in lieu of law enforcement officers in emergencies involving one or more persons with a mental illness or an intellectual or developmental disability, and for other purposes."

At the time the Mental Health Justice Act was introduced in February 2021, with Scanlon on board as one of its original co-sponsors, The Hill reported, "Congress wants to make it easier for state and local governments to defund the police by instead funding mental health services and empowering them to respond to emergency calls instead of armed officers."

Looks like Scanlon's vehicle was found in Delaware. Five people arrested.

Question is ..... if this had happened to someone who wasn't a member of Congress, would law enforcement had made arrests so quickly?
Another question ...... Will those responsible be granted bail and released within a few days?
Another question...... Do you believe the suspects have rap sheets?
Another question..... How quickly will this story disappear from the media?
