LCPS sexual assualt - who is held accountable?

Anonymous
Why can’t the trans people have a separate bathroom?

Does anyone think there will be any resignations over this scandal?

I’m disgusted but really happy it’s being reported on. Sunlight is the best disinfectant!

Why? What do you call a boy who wears a skirt and chooses to use the girls bathroom?

Well, I call a trans girl who uses the girls bathroom a girl.

I call a boy who wears a skirt (which hasn't been confirmed yet via the police report) and rapes girls a rapist.

I'm sure you can find different labels, but you can be pro trans and anti rape. I know it's a lot for your little brain to handle.

Why can’t you discuss this without resorting to name-calling?

Honestly? Because living in Loudoun I see so many of you on our Facebook posts and I'm sick of it. Some of us actually know the families and it's pretty shitty for folks to weigh in because Tucker Carlson told them too.

Is it that hard to believe that non-Fox-watching, middle-of-the-road people have concerns about this?

+1 I'm a Democrat. I'm also a rape survivor. I think it's dangerous to make it normal for biological men to just walk into vulnerable places like women's bathrooms and locker rooms unquestioned.

I’m sorry that you were raped. I’m also sorry that it made you an awful human being. What do you think is more risky, a trans girl in a women’s bathroom or a trans girl in a men’s bathroom?

I think they're both dangerous situations and I fail to see how not agreeing with where some people feel entitled to pee makes me a terrible person. Get a life.

You feel that your comfort is more important. Of course it makes you a bad person.

DP. How is the comfort of a rape victim any less important than the comfort of a person who identifies as trans?
Are we really stopping to this level now? Wow.

Someone who is a rape victim doesn’t automatically get special day in how the world works.

Guess I feel that calling a rape victim a terrible person because she is concerned that these policies will be abused seems...a bit extreme.

I have no problem with a trans girl using a women's restroom. I do have a problem with boys doing so, or boys under the guise of being a "trans girl" doing so. What precautions are in place to ensure that doesn't happen? None that I can see.
Frankly, some on the right seem to believe this is a new problem. Assaults in bathrooms have been going on for years. It has nothing to do with any sort of trans rights issues.

Because that’s not “validating” enough. Seriously. There have been lawsuits over this. Seperate bathrooms were not considered an acceptable solution.

The only thing we know is that a boy assaulted a girl in the girls bathroom. The dad alleges that he “sometimes wears skirts”. Does this mean that this boy made a habit of doing so in order to access the bathroom to assault a girl? No we do not know that. Can we drop the trans hysteria and just focus on the boy and the crime?
We tried as did the father Scott Smith. However there were sexual assaults NOT covered up for both 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. https://loudounnow.com/2021/10/13/parents-students-press-for-reform-in-schools-handling-of-sexual-assaults/. The reason was the vote {8040} by the school board.

Trans girls shouldn’t be forced to use the boys restroom. I will never change my mind in that. I do tend to agree that they should be allowed to use the ladies rooms.

But cases like this rape make me hesitate a little. Are we putting the bio females at risk of more sexual assaults due to the lack of boundaries?

Could we have a 3rd “gender neutral” bathroom type?

It’s such a tough debate.

All that said, the LCPS school board should be ashamed. That superintendent is either a lying SoB or completely incompetent. How did these people get elected? The students deserve better than this.

He was appointed when the other guy left town.

He makes over $300K.

Pro-tip. You can be pro trans and not want to share a bathroom with someone who is biologically of the opposite sex. I don't want to share a bathroom with men, or with trans women. Sorry not sorry.

No. Administrators just job hop away. I've seen far, far worse cover ups (and even crimes) committed by administrators and nothing ever happens. You search their name on google or linkedin a few years later and they're being paid even more someplace else.

The "trans hysteria" is exactly why this was covered up. LCPS was so eager to pass their bathroom policy, be it right or wrong, that they let another girl be raped.

Calling this dad "hysterical" for being upset about the rape of his daughter? Just stop. Believe and support victims whether or not they advance your agenda.

Boy rapes girl in girls bathroom.
School hushes it up because they’re trying to pass their trans “use the bathroom of your choice” policy at the SB and think this will hurt their cause.
Girl’s dad shows up at the SB to tell about his daughter being raped by a boy in the girl’s bathroom.
Prosecutor, who thinks the local trans bathroom rule is a front of a national fight, tries to send the dad to jail. Despite clearly knowing the rape he’s talking about actually happened.

Am I missing anything?

I’m the MCPS parent from up thread.

This is pretty much almost exactly how things panned out in MCPS with the Rockville case. Crazy.

I'd assume the bathroom policy had nothing to do with the cover up. Administrators would have covered this up anyways.

But, there would not have been the incident at the SB meeting. And, SB knew.

Throw this kid in jail. He was also probably sexually assaulted himeseld and and now unfortunately is a hardened evil criminal.

He cannot change. His brain chemistry is messed up. He is like an animal.

Daily Mail has picked up the story, too.

There is no doubt in my mind that the school system denied it happened, and did not want anyone to know.

There has been instances of blatant physical assault (not sexual, that I know of) at FCPS, on camera, and they all but told the police to stay out of it. A few years prior, the same HS had (3) suicides, that were promptly swept under the rug "Nope, that sort of thing doesn't happen here!" should be their motto. It is sickening.

These schools do not want the bad publicity. Bottom line.

These parents, and any parents at the high schools, need to speak up - and not just the guilty ones.

I don't think many parents could blame the victim's dad - he may not have been right in how he handled it, but he wasn't wrong.

Admins don't want this drama and don't want their name attached to it on google when they job hop. But also, don't kid yourself, parents and homeowners in general don't really want to know or hear about this either. The local school district's reputation is wedded to home values and residents' egos. You all have to watch Bad Education from 2019. Brilliant film based on a true story that details this phenom of cover ups and ineptitude by self-serving dips*** crooks who run the average school system.

Honestly it’s sad in a way. Two-time sex offender at 15? I don’t think rehabilitation is likely to be possible. A wasted life already.
