They’re the same birth year which is how the age groups are classified… |
Playing on a younger team?? WTH are you talking about? The entirety of 06 teams are in HS now so there are no trapped players this year to speak of unless there is 2007 playing up. Whatever this years 06 team is accomplishing they are doing so with kids truly born in 2006 without any possible "help" from trapped 05's who are graduating the same year as the 06's during the HS season Last Spring. And the only games those 05's were eligible to play in were in the Spring during last years HS season. Again, just dumb analysis. Those same "Trapped 05's" graduating in 2024 along with the current 06 team will form a composite team in their collective senior year as U19 but until then they are playing at age as they were born in 2005. |
You are also stupid. 2005 players were trapped 2 years ago. Last year it was the 2006 players who were "trapped". This year there will be 2007 players "trapped" on the 2008 teams |
You're not making your point any better. It has been 2 years removed then since these 05's could have possible helped out. You are so lost in the weeds you don't even know what you are even arguing about. The VDA 06 team is good and has been a very good team for several years. How is this up for debate? |
| Yikes. Do these parents really not know how the age groups work. I feel for their kids |
Somehow VDA 05's have been helping out the 06's. |
LOL. God, please stop talking. They absolutely have not, never have. Where would you get such crap information LOL
|
| FCV folks trashing ECNL clubs across all threads. |

Silence your brain and listen.
This doesn’t have to do with any 06 teams. This has to do with parents of 06 players thinking their kid or team is better than what they are. I understand fully that 06 is birth year in the pay to play model. What I’m trying to tell you is that is doesn’t fully correspond with graduation year. More likely than not. A top level 06 ECNL team will be comprised of players in the recruit class of 2024. They are typically playing against players their same exact age as themselves. However, some 05s are also Class of 2024 but are playing against kids who are older. Next year, that 05 will have to play on the 04/05 age group and will be competing against kids two years older…..while the 06 will never have to do that. |
Wow, you need help with either math or how soccer age groups work and go up every year. If 05s are doing it next year, some 06s will the year after, then some 07s, then some 08s... crazy how math and counting works. |
No VDA 05 have been helping the VDA 06 team. |
There are 3 juniors currently on VDA's 03/04 team who will be a part of that 04/05 team. I think you are overstating the significant impact of the number of kids who are two years older than your 2024's will have. It is unlikely in that composite year your team will face many teams with more than 3-4 trapped players. Your own 05 team has 4 such kids graduating in 2024 while the 06's have 8. The rest of the 06's are either 2025's or listed as N/A |
|
As a parent, this is beyond false and very stupid since it would wholly be against rules. What is your evidence this is happening? Just filling DCUM with slander to make yourself feel better? |
The only 06s that will do that are the ones in the Class of 2025. Go look at your roster and tell me the percent |
