The kids can certainly play HS if they want but there is no reason to shut the season down for it. Go play HS if you want but ECNL should not sit and wait for you to return. |
There's no way to do both HS and club soccer. It's too much on the kids. And then there's when do they get time to do homework. Club soccer could be one day a week practice and no games or tournaments until HS season is over. |
| That would be sensible but it is not happening. What is real is the ACL injuries. How can kids play two games a weekend and two a week and not expect to get hurt. Every week I hear about another ACL injury. I am starting to think no hs until you know if your child wants to play college or not and if not then they play hs senior year because the worry about injury affecting college placement lessons. Also most of your grades for college already in. |
My HS team is entirely made up of ECNL and GA players. They do HS and club soccer at the same time. What benefits do you get out of lying? |
Not lying. My DC plays HS soccer 4 days a week of practice and at least one game a week. No one should be doing anymore than that. If so then you're likely to get injured from overuse. |
Kids in VA play fall club and spring Hs Kids in MD play fall HS and spring club If you choose to cross over state lines, that’s on you. |

Above is an article from 2014 when ECNL was year around. |
That would be great and all, except that it's not true (aligning the seasons) on the boys side, as VA ECNL boys plays against MD ECNL boys in league play with the recent re-alignment. |
That’s good and all but the MD boys are pulling double duty. Not good for them…but good for the VA kids I guess. |
In the HS age groups, the MD teams haven't started ECNL games yet. It's just been VA and NC teams playing games so far. Maryland teams won't start playing until late November (Pipeline)/January (Maryland United and Baltimore Celtic). https://public.totalglobalsports.com/public/event/2365/schedules/12495 |
Then pick one to do. |
Are you seriously this stupid that you don’t think the shoe would be in the other foot in spring when VA HS soccer season starts? |
1. Watch your mouth 2. I dont care if the burden was reciprocated. It too much. Everybody involves knows it too much. |
|
1. There is no requirement to do both. 2. You are too stupid to realize that VA kids would face the same dilemma in the spring. |
