I guess SC, NC, NOVA all line up perfectly with HS and ECNL? LOL... no, they don't even come close.

Charlotte area high schools play soccer exact same time as ECNL fall schedule, yet they are in same conf as NOVA clubs. I fail to see this point of HS vs ECNL.

Any idea if the girls ECNL will re-align like the boys side did this year (MD/VA/NC vs. VA/NC/SC)?

Every girl team would rejoice not having to travel to SC

Is 1 trip to SC really that bad? DMV girls ECNL clubs are a bit spoiled in regard to travel already considering at least 5 conference games can be played without an overnight stay.

It's not, but doesn't SC playing with GA make more sense than with NOVA? Yes. Does NOVA playing Bethesda make more sense than playing SC? Yes. That's all we're saying. Think of the cost savings over multiple clubs, multiple teams, multiple days (that's NOVA going south and SC heading north). Almost every other conference has localized their clubs better than mid-Atlantic. There are outlier clubs, sure... but Bethesda is literally minutes from some clubs, but instead they play a club a days drive away. Come on, man.

Answer this - Does it make sense for MD kids to plays HS and Club at the same time while competing against VA who are only play club. Do you not see major issues with that? If so, the conversation is over. If not, you should dig deeper to understand that various issues.

WTF are you talking about. VA kids play HS. Our entire team plays HS soccer and did an entire slate of spring ECNL games/tournaments. This whole HS junk is the lamest excuse in history. VA kids 1000000000% play HS soccer and, in the case of Colgan HS in Manassas, dominate. You've never been more wrong and lame with an excuse that is wholly weak af.

Have you noted the number of kids with ACL injuries? It is not good to play Club and HS at same time. ECNl gets this which is why this will not change. VA aligns with hs seasons and Md aligns with their hs season.

Translation, US Soccer was right about HS soccer.

better question is why doesn't every HS in america or at least each region play soccer in the same season. That would eliminate that problem. Why does VA have soccer in spring? I thought Soccer and Field hockey were always a Fall sport like American Football and Baseball/softball lacrosse and Tennis were in the spring.

Because HS soccer is a state sport school sport and as such it doesn't need to answer to anyone but itself. VA public HS's don't play MD HS's.

The bigger question is why does ECNL care about HS Soccer? GA allows for HS soccer but they do not accommodate it in their schedule. As such, their conferences are more reasonably aligned based on travel distance.

All ECNL has to do is say, we are scheduling a 10 month season otherwise "ALL IN" only seems to apply to clubs and not the players.

I would love to see this. It’s how ECNL was before they were challenged by the Girls DA. They clearly won that battle, so let’s go back to a more rational season.

I think you need to take another look at the other conferences and how much teams are traveling. Most conferences outside the north east and mid atlantic have 1 or more flights required for their league games. Maryland teams are in a different conference with different schedule to accomodate HS ball. It is what it is. The other component ECNL has to deal with is balancing out the leagues. There are already a lot of teams in the southeast, so adding SC clubs isn't ideal. And the SC clubs would rather travel to NOVA once or twice rather than travel to Florida 2 or 3 times.

Adding 2-3 clubs in NC and/or SC would make a self contained division with NC/SC.

Adding 2-3 clubs in VA would do the same. Aligning all the DMV clubs and ignoring HS soccer would be the best case scenario with NC/SC adding a couple clubs. Such an alignment would require additional clubs in the North Atlantic conference but they can divvy up the New England conference a bit.

Where did the posts about vda Bethesda FCV and Union go? Why would those be deleted? There was nothing negative there. It was a question.

Maryland boys do not play ecnl league games until after high school is over.

That other states do is irrelevant- it’s not ideal.

The girls divisions are aligned for Maryland and north. They will not mess with that.

ECNL needs to stop catering to HS soccer.

ECNL is not catering to HS. ECNL is catering to the players desires.

PS….No one cares if you don’t like HS soccer. The overwhelming majority do.

PSS….Your kid isn’t going pro. Let them enjoy life.
