I don't think she's inherently pro-GOP. I think she's just so pissed at what the current, all-Democrat School Board did to her son's school (TJ) that she's looking to take as many people associated with FCPS down as possible. And they give her plenty of ammunition. |
| How did we end up with circus of a school board? The superintendent seems relatively decent. |
+1 If Washington Post did its job, this would not be necessary. Social media is the only way to inform people. I haven't checked digital WAPO yet today, but there was nothing in print edition about the brouhaha last night--and it was early enough to have been in print. Also, WAPO reported nothing about Abrar's vote against 9/11 resolution--and, that certainly should have been reported. |
| Encouraging people to misbehave and lose all decorum and civility at public meetings by giving them press is a bad idea. But right wing media regularly post these sort of clips and the goal of the people who behave this way is to go viral through those sites. |
Guess you aren't monitoring her Twitter feed. GOP shill. |
You've made a case that undue attention shouldn't be paid to the people who show up at School Board meetings yelling about FCPS's bad judgment. That doesn't address, however, the typical failure of publications like the Post, which have beat reporters covering local education, to ever pay attention to, and report on, the underlying problems. |
Just because you're an FCDC troll who spends his or her day monitoring Twitter feeds doesn't mean others are GOP shills. |
How else do you expect the parents to get the attention of the School Board? They send form letter responses to comments sent to them. If we had real investigative reporters, we would know. Most parents are not checking out the books in the school library. I'm guessing if you showed that video to most parents, they would be appalled. Remember: this book is about pedophilia and it is available to seventh graders. It does not belong in the school library. It is time that our SB paid attention to what is actually going on in the schools. |
I'm not a member of FCDC and I check out her twitter feed whenever her name pops up.... which typically happens around RWNJ talking points. GOP shill. So is she looking for a job on Newsmax or what? |
Maybe they just ignore the "problems" manufactured by RWNJs? |
Burning down buildings and looting is harming "just property" and people expressing themselves and no big deal.; Talking over a school board member and reading material available in the schools' libraries doesn't even rate. |
So, your views on Asra outweigh any logical discussion about whether a pornographic book about pedophilia should be readily available to seventh graders? |
It's important to understand who is pushing these "problems". Asra seems to be fervantly pushing RWNJ talking points. Ban books! Schools are teaching "CRT"! Schools are teaching BLM! etc. All while pushing for Youngkin...and previously Trump. Is she compensated per Tweet? Or is she padding her portfolio for a job at Newsmax? |
| When I scan a DCUM post and see someone using the "RWNJ" acronym, I ignore the rest of the post. It's a very strong signal that one of the FCDC trolls or sympathizers is falling back on their usual bag of insults to defend anything, no matter how stupid or vile, that's been done or tolerated by the current, all-Democratic School Board. |
It's a sign of someone who recognizes that the GOP is actively astroturfing right here in the DC area. Someone who will call it out each and every time. I'm not a defender of the SB; I just hate lying conservatives trying to manipulate their way into local issues. |
