Read the reviews on Goodreads for either book. You will see the words of teenagers who appreciated the books, found themselves validated, inspired, understood, or found themselves growing in understanding of others. NO ONE is opening up a comic book in the school library for sexual gratification. The book as a whole is a sensitive and tough memoir. Not sexy.

If an (equally disturbed) parent wants to give a book like this to their own child, that is their business. It does not belong in a library of a public school where it violates community standards
