Will you pull your child out of your club for the fall?

Seriously considering it. It seems unlikely they will offer anything beyond a weekly socially distanced practice. It's a lot of money for this.

what club are you referring to?

Haha. No

There might not be an official league in the Fall but we are training full on ... 3 days a week. Full contact. Kids are getting fit. We'll be scrimmaging other teams in 2 weeks I'd say. Is it worth the money? Not sure, but my kid love to play and he's staying motivated, working hard, and wants to play.

Oh and saying that it seems likely that there will be anything beyond a weekly socially distanced practice is....I'm not even sure. Lots of team are already training multiple times a week full contact, full team, etc. Do you have you head your ass?

What’s your problem, besides crappy grammar?

No. Something is better than nothing. They need stability and the ability to connect, even socially distant. We already committed the money.

I already did and my kid is now learning how to playing golf and tennis. It has been interesting for him to try individual sports.

Lol. And look at you trolling the soccer forum. You must already miss it and know you made the wrong decision. My kids are practicing two days a week responsibly and it’s already provided the much needed exercise and stability they needed. Good luck hitting the links.

This was our thinking as well.

Given what we have seen and heard across clubs and teams, very few parents have exited travel soccer, at least in younger age groups, notwithstanding what you read in these pages. That might change if the numbers increase dramatically in the DMV. And I do not think people would be happy to travel for overnight tournaments until we see some or any light at the end of the tunnel. But local league play will certainly proceed if left to participants. It won't stop or slow because there is substantial parental exit, at least not based on what we see at this juncture.

+1. It’s been really good for our kid to be connected with their team. Our coach and parents take covid seriously - though our kids are in the lower risk age group. If it’s just practices, while disappointing worth the stability and structure. The real value - at this time - is not about soccer itself

Are you kidding? If this past year wasn’t bad enough, COVID and this next year will be a nightmare.

Preach on the other threads. Why are you still here if your child is not playing? The numbers across clubs tell us there are a handful of parents at most who share your view, if, in fact, you are a soccer parent.
