GS-15 husband and wife collect money and not working

Anonymous
My next door Potomac neighbor, both husband and wife are Fed, both GS-15 and they are working probably less than an hour a day. Even before the pandemic, whenever they are working from hiome, they spent 90% of their working hours taking care of the flowers and trees in their yard. Now that both are working from home, they are spending about 99% of the working hours taking for the lawn and flowers. How do I know this? They told me. They both said: we do not work. work are for suckers. The contractors do the jobs for us.

Must be nice having a government job like them.

I work for the Government as GS-14 and that’s not my life so yes, I’m sure it’s nice.

Sounds like the dream. See if they'll put my name in!

That said I'm in private practice and even in the office I rarely work full days. Plenty of time chatting with coworkers, messing around on DCUM, etc.

Only look in someone else’s bowl to be sure they have enough.

This post makes you look bad, OP. Try being a better person.

I only know one fed who does this, and he doesn't work while in the office either. Management has been trying to get him to retire for a couple years now.

Most feds don't do this.
I assume these are older feds from another older time and era or young trust fund feds. The rest of us have to work.

You’re a troll.

OP, you can always call the anonymous tip lines for their agencies’ inspector general offices and report the days on which they were not working. Unless complaint is exceeding vague, the IG offices will look at their time sheets, when they were logged on, when they sent emails, etc.

IG's have all been fired for investigating Admin officials.

If they are Trump appointments, that checks out. Otherwise, report them.

GS-15s would not be Trump appointees.

On the positive side they are keeping up their yard which will help the value of the neighborhood.

My friends that are government workers have not been working since March.

I think it is one reason that vacation rentals are so strong right now. Paychecks keep hitting the bank account.

My spouse and I are GS14 and 15. We both work extremely long hours and could make a lot more money for our skills in the private sector. For every lazy fed like you described (if that’s even real), there are many more who are a huge bargain to the American people.

My friend is a Fed. There’s only about 15 hours of work per week for her to do right now. But she has to log on every day even if she finished the week’s work on Monday and Tuesday.

Of course they would. There are thousands of political appointees throughout the government. You think they’re all SES?
