I guess the good news is that SYC isn't a club that someone upgrades to.

There's plenty of clubs with 05 and 06 boys leaving. They're choosing to go to SYC. That's cute though about the recruiting part.

Pretty sure I didn't imagine the SYC coach sauntering through the parking lot, walking up to the sideline at practice, and asking about 05s and 06s who might be interested in switching That's cute that you're in denial.

Hey, if someone wants to go to SYC, well, I feel bad for them and the garbage coaching they're going to get...but hey, power to them.

But for the parents...be careful with accepting those offers.

Oh, so what you're trying to say is FTF is recruiting for futsal? Tell you what, since coaching slate is already out, how about you tell me what coach it is? Just use the initials.

Tell you what, tell me it's not true...tell me that you don't have guys out looking for 05 and 06 players.

There's nothing wrong with being out and recruiting players. Why are you getting so defensive about this? I know who the guy was and I know what he said...If he wasn't acting on your behalf, go ahead, say it.

Here's what doesn't make sense to me...Are you recruiting for your blue teams at those ages? Have you suffered so much attrition and you just really don't want to bring up the previous SYC players that you pushed down to the orange teams last year?

Or are you recruiting for orange and below to fill out the lower teams? And if that's the case, why in the world do you think that a high-school age kid would want to switch clubs to be on a lower team at a mediocre club? Maybe because of the 40+ VYSA State Cups that SYC coaches have won as players and coaches??

But seriously, you're not Arlington, you're not Bethesda, you're not DC United.

This is a parent, not a coach, admittedly though I am quite active in SYC. Basically the entire 06B age group returned, so there's no need to recruit. As far as the 05B age group, I'm pretty sure everybody returned as well. The "FTF Guy" isn't associated with SYC soccer; check the coaching slate because he's not on there. What fields was this even happening at? Personally, I think you may just be mistaken so I'm quite alright listening to you explain yourself.

Yeah, okay, this says enough for me. You're just trying to create confusion/disinformation and scare people. That's understandable. "Attrition" didn't happen, at least at our club (SYC).

Hey man, I know who he was and I know what he said. I don't know what teams he was recruiting for (you may be right about the 05B and 06B blue teams, but I'm sure that SYC suffered some attrition on the lower teams, as did everyone). I don't know what his affiliation is with SYC, other than that he SAID he was looking for players for SYC--but it's silly if you think that someone has to be on the coaching slate of SYC to be out looking for players.

I've never had a kid at SYC, so I don't really care. But we do have close friends who have had promises made to them by the current SYC coaches, and then been told something along the lines of, "But won't it be great if DS can get more games by playing with the orange team? Oh, and practicing with the orange team, too. And pretty much being on the orange team."

If you're happy, and the boys are all coming back, great! But they're out looking...
