Why aren’t the masses demonstrating about this? This kid has shot and/or killed more people in 70-odd DAYS than the entire 3,900 officer MPD in the last several YEARS. But no one marched for any of his victims. Do they matter? |
| They should lock that monster and his mama and daddy up for life. I guess black lives only matter if your tearing down historical artifacts. Prayers for these victims, Bowser truly failed the city on this one. Maybe she should stop painting streets and do her actual job. |
|
Were you dropped on your head as a child? Serious question. You have a VERY peculiar way of thinking and also seem to believe what you're saying is profound or meaningful. It's truly bizarre. |
You have no idea whether anyone has marched for his victims because you have probably never set foot in any of those neighborhoods. I can tell you that residents are constantly protesting the violence in their neighborhoods. It is very likely that people have marched for his victims. It is sad that your only apparent interest in this string of violent deaths is to exploit it for your own ends. I am not sure anyone cares about your fake concern. |
| People aren’t demonstrating because he is being prosecuted under the law in an appropriate manner. Do you not truly get that? |
Oh, how utterly wrong you are. My office window afforded me a very good view of the bodies of both men killed on MLK in May. The neighborhood I work in 5-6 days a week. Just up from the pizza shop and the fish house where I get lunch a couple days a week. Next to the Thurgood Marshall charter school where I helped mentor kids last fall. You. Have. No. Idea. |
Then how is it possible that you have come to the belief that no one cares about these deaths and there have not been protests about the violence? Some have even been organized in cooperation with Thurgood Marshall school. |

Marshall Academy Students Take Aim at Gun Violence

|
Sixth district looks pretty dangerous.
|
Nope. I saw kids from Marshall every day, until schools closed for the pandemic. A better question is, where were you? |
So you saw all of this and still posted a message suggesting no one cared about these victims? There is a real disconnect there. Moreover, your original post contained a factual error. You wrote, "This kid has shot and/or killed more people in 70-odd DAYS than the entire 3,900 officer MPD in the last several YEARS.". According to the Washington Post's database of police shootings, 13 people have been killed in DC by the police since 2015: https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/investigations/police-shootings-database/?itid=lk_interstitial_manual_11 Where was I? I have been working with DC schools and education issues and working against gun violence for as long as I can remember. That's why I was aware of the protests that you neglected to mention in your original post. |

Did I miss the part about how the 16 you kid -- who has been apprehended -- carried a badge?
|
Fact: The ONLY reason we know his name for these DC crimes is he is being charged as an adult. Fact: Councilmember Charles Allen's Second Look Act of 2019 proposed that any crime committed before age 25 should be up for review for early release, including rape and murder. |
| Why the hell wasn't this kid off the street after the first incident? |
| What kind of world do we live in where a 16-year-old serial killer isn’t front page news? If this were a white kid who shot up a school, it would be front page news for weeks. Have we really come to expect that this is just the kind or thing that happens in this neighborhood? |
