One DC 16 yr old charged in 4 homicides in 10 shootings since early April

This doesn't surprise me at all. After discovering that the teen who broke into our house while we were home had been arrested 6 times before, I realized that the DC juvenile justice system was broken. Maybe people aren't protesting because they've come to expect this type of thing (repeat offenders committing crimes).

Because DC is run by Democrats. It's the same story in Baltimore. Far left loony judges and politicians let out hardened violent criminals with a slap on the wrist. Of course they learn nothing when there are zero repercussions. Cops routinely arrest the same people over 20 times for all sorts of serious crimes because they keep getting let out. They have to arrest one man crime waves over and over and over again.

This is your DC. You asked for leniency in sentencing and a less policing. Have fun drowning under your expensive mortgages once the insane crime waves take over.

Liberals simply can't understand the fact that evil and evil people in the world exist who should locked away forever from civilized society.

If people really care about this violence, let’s see them support getting the guns off the streets. Period. Not using the latest casualty as a rhetorical tool to suggest the protests against police violence is an over-reaction when, in fact, such violence is a different manifestation of society’s indifference to black lives.

I’m sure the guns he used were legal.

1 16 year old kid.

12 weeks.

10 shootings.

4 murders.

Why aren’t the masses demonstrating about this? This kid has shot and/or killed more people in 70-odd DAYS than the entire 3,900 officer MPD in the last several YEARS.

But no one marched for any of his victims.

Do they matter

Amazing stats in a 12 week period.

I agree with you op. Right now we are in the minority among progressive people.

So go ahead and organize a protest. Go out there and protest youth spree killers. Just be sure to wear a mask.

You have no idea whether anyone has marched for his victims because you have probably never set foot in any of those neighborhoods. I can tell you that residents are constantly protesting the violence in their neighborhoods. It is very likely that people have marched for his victims.

It is sad that your only apparent interest in this string of violent deaths is to exploit it for your own ends. I am not sure anyone cares about your fake concern.

Thank you, Jeff.

Black lives are a rhetorical weapon for conservatives like this.

And they have been so since at least the time of Lee Atwater. Violence in cities is just a wedge issue conservatives can use to stoke the fires of white identity politics.

It's hilarious that anyone actually believes that any type of significant protests or community based anti gun violence work is being done in these neighborhoods that have a lot of gun/gang violence.

I think someone above posted a link to an article as evidence. The article said that the activist kids met dc politicians at Ben's chili bowl and talked about a PSA lol. Every cop working those precincts knows that a vast majority of residents are apathetic and oftentimes part of the problem. They also know that these underlying issues are deep and some after school program or whatever isn't going to change anything.

I am all for social programs, restorative justice and mediation for small offenses. At the back end, once the heinous crimes are committed - the DC youth rehab act (which doesnt actually rehabilitate) and Charles Allens second chance act to let rapists and murderers out based on age of offense are just revolving doors for hardened criminals who return to and hurt their own community.

Is this just the case of a dirty gun?

I live in Anacostia and there is a strong no snitch culture. People fear retaliation. And yeah, most on this board do not care about these victims or the many others who die with barely a sentence about their violent deaths mentioned in the news. This 16 year old serial killer should be huge news.

And the idiot who used it to shoot a bunch of people, yes.

Luckily this little monster didn’t understand the concept of ballistic evidence and tooling marks on shell casings. So it was easy to pin all these shootings on him, with the gun that he still had.

Criminals are stupid and lazy. And that’s a good thing for the rest of us.
