MCPS language immersion placement decisions?

| Does anyone have an updated date on when these placement decisions are coming out? They'd said June 5, but that was when the application deadline was earlier, I thought. They pushed the deadline back to May 29. Should we be hearing about this today, or later? |

| I think they said “on or about June 5th.” You would think if they stated that they would get it out on June 5th. But, apparently not. I imagine it will be early next week (unless they just send it out over the weekend which would be nice). |

Isn’t this the first year without all the sibling preferences? Or the second? Hopefully not so competitive for those of us without siblings in the programs.

Sort of. If the older child is in 3rd grader next year or higher, the sibling gets in automatically. If the sibling is in 2nd grade or lower next year, the younger child gets their name entered an extra time, plus one more time if they are FARMS eligible, I think. |

| Got an email today inviting DC to 1st grade, Chinese. Not sure K and 1st notices are going out at the same time, though. |
