My twins both got into the chinese immersion program and waitlisted for the full spanish immersion. We would prefer Spanish. What are our chances getting into that being #163 and #164 on waitlist?

No chance. Sorry.

My child is #5 for French at Maryvale ES (incoming kindergarten class). My sense is that he's likely to eventually get offered a spot. Anyone have any experience with the Maryvale waitlist in recent years? Thanks!

Seems pretty promising based on past year threads

Ya! We got #4 on the Spanish immersion but nearly #200 for Chinese at Rustin. We’d much prefer Chinese. Not sure what we’ll do.

My child is waitlisted (low teens) at Rock Creek, invited at another school. I prefer Rock Creek just because it’s closer and I plan to drive child to and from school each day.
.
If I decline the invitation at the other school and stay on the waitlist, what’s the chance that he’ll get off the waitlist into Rock Creek?

Hard to say. How much time do you get to decide?

Does anyone know how fast the waitlists for first grade usually move?

My child is #10 at our first choice, but I know there are fewer openings available in first grade.

We were in the high teens and got into RCF just before the start of school. We declined another program and took a chance. I think you have a great shot, especially if you are comfortable possibly switching after school starts.

Two spots always open in 1st due to class sizes changing. You would need another 7 kids to decide to leave the program.

Anyone know why those in 30 under have a chance? Wouldn’t that mean 30 folks rejected?

If you’re on the waitlist across the board, there’s no action required - right? We just wait until maybe you get an invite and THEN you have to decide?
