He's not losing anything. She played a huge role in creating Amazon and does lots of other stuff plus primary parent. They each equally own that money that will be split. His share goes to his AP, her share will be for her and the kids.

"A lot of charity" would be stretching it. They gave away like 15$mn/year through the Bezos family foundation. Compare that to the Zuckerbergs who made arrangements to donate $50 bn the year their first kid was born.

And Amazon is not a good corporate citizen. No philanthropic activities within the community, unlike any company of its size.

Amazon does a lot of charity work. There is a lot within the community in Seattle, including a homeless shelter in their building. Amazon is not just one company, it is comprised of many companies and it is a business and business are to make money for their investors not be a charitable company.

Monogamy is not natural. Most of the couples would be divorced after 20 years if they can afford it. People grow at different rate and different directions, and become incompatible, or realize they were not compatible to begin with after meeting more people later in life. f

Good for them to start a new stage in their lives. With the billions of dollars they have, only their imagination is the limit.

However, that would probably hinder Jeff's world domination ambition. He will lose half of his voting power on the amazon board unless she signs something stating she would vote with him every time. She would be a fool to sign it though.

This is what will be most interesting to watch and will really tell you if it was amicable or not. Things could get really messy for amazon real quick.
