No, you don’t have it right. !4:07 and 14:11 spelled it out for you (thanks, PPs!). |
Very happy but child isn't going to be able to graduate without enough math classes. So, what do we do about it since MCPS says its not their problem despite requiring four years of math in HS. |
Our kids cannot learn math as they don't have enough math classes. So, we don't get electives or math. |
Your kid takes AP Stats, or any other math class. |
Its not always that easy to move when you factor in employment commutes, family (i.e. living near an elderly parent who needs help), kids activities and more... |
Ok, they take stats junior year, so then what do they take senior year? |
Einstein already has a minimal music program compared to other schools, and the teachers are stretched thin. They weren't even allowed to offer AP music theory. I don't see what they can cut from the already bare bones, stretched-thin music program. They could easily use 2-3 more teachers and could fill the classes. |
Actually, they didn't. Just a flippant misdirection. The disparity is due to the quality of the parental support independent of the school and the student body - what's so hard to understand? This article from 2023 does a good job of teasing out the disparities including, gasp, a startling link between the % FARMs and % that did not pass a single IB or AP exam: https://theblackandwhite.net/77000/news/new-mcps-data-highlights-continuing-disparities-among-high-schools/ Guess what? No amount of funding is going to close that gap. |
They mandated the absolute minimum but that's what we have and not enough. |
Blair wouldn't work for us. Wheaton, Einstein, maybe Northwood, but those are the only ones we could make work with transportation/after school activities. |
Nothing negative changes for them, and they are getting more classes and resources when they already have everything. |
