| So these are the final four options? Or there could be a new set? |
+1. |
Look at WJ for the last 10 years. Shows what they did NOT care about. This is a booming and desirable area. School will fill up, and overflow, in no time. |
| Ashburton going to Kennedy is social engineering on option D. You will see riots at that DSW |
I think the next step is that the superintendent makes his recommendation in January, which could have some tweaks--but I think it's fair to say it will be very similar to one of these 4 options. Then there will be hearings about that recommendation, with the final vote in March. Now if only they had such a clear and logical process, with transparency and opportunity for genuine input from the public, for hte program analysis. That process has been the opposite. |
It's stunning because the DCC schools are left overcapacity in some of these options so they are basically saying FU to taxpayers who want them to use their resources efficiently like adults |
Or maybe lots of WHJ-zoned families will return to the public school, once the out of control overcrowding is finally fixed. Many in my neighborhood go to private schools in order to avoid over-crowded WJ. Now they will once again have reasonable access to their tax-funded local school. |
Ashburton is at WJ in Options A-D. |
Ops had my greens mixed up |
I thought you were trying to make a funny joke |
Current capacity of Wheaton HS is 2251. |
So in this scenario WJ is at capacity and Wheaton wildly overcrowded. Nice! |
They could have redistributed plenty of times but didn't. Because no one in the WJ casement wanted to go to Einstein. |
So at best, Wheaton will be at 115% of its current capacity |
| Einstein zoned family here. All of these options increase FARMS (Option C in particular) and as previously noted the programming changes will likely result in existing specialty programs wilting on the vine. Such a shame - the school in the past several years had been a success story but that seems unlikely to continue. |
