I think they will address the ES—>MS split articulations when they move on to the ES boundary study after this is done.

These maps are much better. Not thrilled about my neighborhood in a couple of maps but it all makes sense.

My kids will graduate before any of that comes to pass, but I want to note here that with the new regional programs being set up for high school, in which different MCPS regions will specialize in different educational topics, for which high schoolers may commute, the boundaries need to be drawn to minimize long-distance busing in heavy traffic. Otherwise everything is going to be a NIGHTMARE.

Wow, they are assuming Wheaton will have an additional 500 student capacity at Edison. Is that based on an unfinished area of the building? Where are the cost estimates for building that out and why hasn't that already been done given how overcrowded Wheaton is now?

And despite assuming this extra capacity at Wheaton that doesn't yet exist, they still leave Wheaton overcrowded over that inflated number. Wow.

My neighborhood, which has a very logical articulation pattern at the moment, has sudden uncertainty/split articulation introduced in this scenario.

Weird to have zero changes in the first set of maps, then a bunch of proposed splits the second time around, suggesting they were lulling some neighborhoods into thinking no changes were coming.

Demographics are only tweakable in certain places. Whitman will always be under 10% farms unless you aggressively bus to and from it. Which no one will do.
