Sidwell football article in post....what are the parents saying?

PP: get a life dude.

Not everyone wants to send their son to a WCAC school where sports dominate the school culture.

Aah, yes. The world is black and white, eh? Either your child attends a sports-obsessed school, or he/she attends a school with basically no sports.

Isn't it just possible that there's something in between? Can't some people want their child to attend a school that is strong in both academics and athletics? For those people, Sidwell is not very attractive.

Umm, ok. So what? I think Sidwell would be a great fit for my kids and I really hope they are admitted. Doesn't matter to me one bit if it's not what other parents want for their kids.

My goodness, what a mean-spirited and grudging response. It also doesn't make much sense, given that this is a 60-page thread that originally started because Sidwell's football team was winless in the league. Now that they've won that same league, it seems like it might be okay to post a non-nasty reference to that development.

Good for them! My kids don't go there but they've got friends from sports on various teams there. I used to try to post a few years ago to note that they had some good programs and athletes but the trolls made it too tiresome.

the IAC schools have a much better balance between academics and sports than Sidwell, GDS and Maret.

Volleyball won the championship of the B division. That doesn't count.

Except that Sidwell routinely defeats St Albans in many sports. It isn't the 1980's anymore.

They can add the trophy to their collection of "participation" trophies they got from youth sports
