If she changed her name, she has documents to prove it. It's not an issue.

Are you a man? It IS an issue. I just f’ing did this nonsense when I got a REAL ID. I had to find all my documents (because I didn’t have a current passport), even though my then current drivers license had my married name on it. I made an appointment at DMV, took off from work, waited for a long time, paid for it, and finally got it. And it adds salt to the wound that Real ID isn’t going “to count.”

Some work is necessary to protect our nation. (NP here and woman)

Protect it from what? There is no evidence of any election where the outcome was changed because of people voting when they weren’t supposed to. None.

Doesn’t matter if it was changed in the past. Keeping those doors open is just stupid

Wow, this is epically stupid.

Good God. No one is saying it NEVER happens. What everyone is saying, and this is backed up by data, is that it is an extremely small number of people that have committed voter fraud, something like 40 people in a 25 year period (and hundreds of millions of votes). Not enough to change the outcome of any election.

Tell that to Shelly Simonds or David Yancey in VA whose race ended in a tie in 2017 and was decided by essentially having a name drawn out of a hat.

Or, tell that to Sam Page or Phil Berger in NC - a primary race that has Page leading by 2 votes.

EVERY VOTE MATTERS. And, when ineligible people cast votes it disenfranchises legal voters.

And there’s no evidence of any illegal votes in those elections. Now, if you have an example where illegal voting affected
the outcome, please share it.

Do you mean illegal by non-citizens voting, or by votes cast illegally? Most voter fraud is in absentee ballots. Who knows who is casting those votes. And, be
lieve it or not, there is quite a bit more voter fraud than most would like to admit.
I know a prosecutor who successfully prosecuted two voter fraud cases, but said there are far more than that. You usually need someone to "turn" in order to prove it.

Fraud is not easy to prove, but it is there.

So you have no proof. Got it. But you want to disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of people based on fraud you can’t prove has any effect on anything.

Basically this. PP is running the same playbook at Trump. A prosecutor with tears in his eyes came up to PP and said "Sir, I successfully prosecuted two voter fraud cases, but there's just so many more. Nobody's ever seen anything like it."

No. You can deny if you wish, but you are wrong. And, the two I mentioned by the prosecutor I know are included here.

https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/sites/whitehouse.gov/files/docs/pacei-voterfraudcases.pdf

Which of those two cases led to a change in the outcome of an election?

“I’m sorry insurance company. We’ve never been robbed so I never locked my doors”

Can you show us an example of any election that had its outcome affected by noncitizens voting illegally?

Fine, Republicans go ahead and pass the voter suppression act. It will impact way more of you than democrats. More Dems have passports, more Dem have funds to get proper paperwork. We have organizations ready and willing to help. All the MAGA mommas gonna find out GOP wants you to shut up.

The democrats offered a voter ID bill, and the GOP opposed it. The GOP is not interested in voter ID, they are interested in voter suppression.

I understand where Trump's coming from here. In his mind real, patriotic Americans hate Democratic policies so Dems only win elections by cheating. So a law that stops their cheating will make sure only real, patriotic Americans get to have their voices heard at the polls. He's not necessarily being corrupt...just really stupid.

Then how did Trump win in 2024?

He won because people were unhappy about how the Biden administration handled the border and Israel/Gaza.

But if there were election fraud, then Harris would have won in a landslide and also controlled the House and Senate. No, the only fraud for the GOP is the election where Trump lost the presidency in 2020, but somehow a lot of GOP House and Senate candidates were elected.

There clearly wasn't fraud in 2024, since trump won and the GOP controls the House and senate, so what is Trump trying to fix? Other than the 2026 and 2028 elections?

Bottom line, there is no election fraud at scale that turns the results of the elections. It is all a scam to rig 2026 and 2028.

Yes, what extra hoops can we add for men to have jump through to get to vote?

I just got one. Not that hard. And, yes, I go by my married name. I guess I proved that when I got my drivers' license and Social Security card change many years ago.

Your Real ID won't let you vote though.

Is there a citation for Dem's having more passport holders? A big block of the Democratic base is Black middle- and lower-middle income voters. I doubt many of them have passports.

This is not locking my doors at home.

This is evicting the neighbors near me that I don’t like and telling people that I think that they might break into my house despite the fact that I have no evidence that they are planning to commit any crimes.

Come on, this is trolling, right?

You’re recycling the immigration logic?

But anyway. If there is fraud how did Trump win in 2024? And what about the GOP in Congress?

From 2021...Democrats do not oppose voter ID, what they oppose is voter suppression, which is what the SAVE Act does.

+1. I remember when I first moved to Virginia. During one visit to the DMV I registered my car in Virginia, got a Virginia license and registered to vote. I spent a fair bit of money that day - it was worth it to me because becoming a Virginia driver allowed me to work among other things. But not everybody makes the same calculation.

Requiring a passport instead of a driver's license just makes it that much worse of a poll tax.
