The movie was poorly written but I do not believe she should return her Oscar when actual rapists still have theirs. She'll keep it as she should because unlike the Tuohys, there is zero evidence that Sandra obtained any votes illegally via Academy rules. She also shouldn't return it as some sort of moral high ground because it won't change anything. She won Best Actress for her technical performance. The movie did not win Best Picture (it should not have been nominated) and it was not nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay (again poorly written and not deserving).

What would happen if the Tuohys went to court to end it like normal people would have done? It would have gotten press and they would be exposed as the lying liars they are just as is happening now. I doubt they would ever petition the court to end it unless forced.

Where are you getting this?

Go back and read the terms of the conservatorship. They can enter into contract on his behalf at their sole discretion. Clearly this would be inclusive of using his NIL.

What I want to know: why did the Touhy’s break the law every year by not updating the court on the status of the conservatorship?

None of the speaking engagements require a contract with Oher so that has nothing to do with NIL. If there’s some car dealership with his face plastered on it that is paying the conservatorship and the Touhys are taking that cash, fine. But let’s see the evidence that the right to enter into contracts matters.

He must have signed dozens of contracts over the years,NFL,buying a house/car, endorsements etc. his financial manager and his business manager AND his agent would have been aware of this.
