Wedding guest dress

Anonymous
Hello everyone!

We are invited for a wedding in fall. I know it’s early and hope it will happen but since there is nothing else looking forward to right now, I am going to start getting ideas for a dress.
Wedding is in upstate New York at some nice country club.
I am skinny and fit brunette, 5’5 with long legs. 39 y.o.

I am loving the Byron Lars dresses, but maybe you ladies have something better in mind.

These are few of my picks

Hate them

The first link is beyond hideous.

The second link is fine.

Can you give us some more info about what you like? These options are ... bad.

Ok...
That’s first positive response lol

Why do you hate them and do you have dresses in mind to share with me?

Um I can’t wear midi, don’t look good in it. Has to be knee length or a little above.

We have better things to do than go dress hunting with barey any info on what you like, what works on you, preferences, etc.

Your first link is awful, the second is fine. Feel free to pop up a few more links and we'll give you feedback. But you're giving no parameters.

I am not sure what info you need from me...
I gave my measurements and stated that midi does not work for me, has to be more fitted dress.

I love the first one. It’s hideous in the ivory, pretty in the other colors, and really, really pretty in the gray that you linked to. Funny how how much better or worse some colors are in that dress.

The second dress is fine but kind of generic.

So pleasant to read constructive feedback.

Do you like sleeveless, spaghetti strap, cap sleeve, short sleeve? Are any of those a no-go for you?

What colors do you like? What colors do you not wear at all?

What type of day is the wedding supposed to be? Is the reception a dinner and dancing scenario?

I'm not going to click around and give you options only for you to be like "But I HATE green."

So awesome to read passive agressive feedback on the feedback you requested.

No one walked into your living room and told you that these dresses were ugly (they are). You came in here and asked for opinions. Opinion: the dresses you linked to are ugly.

I usually don’t have such strong responses like “I hate”))
So honestly I am open to anything, just fitted and not midi. Not brown or black since it’s a wedding.
It’s a day wedding turning into evening reception. So something that will work for both I guess?

NP. Go ahead and wear the first dress you linked to. You're too defensive to help. You wanted opinions, you got them. Go wear your weird dress to this wedding that will not be happening, and enjoy!
