| About to pull the trigger on a Peloton but worried either I'll get tired of it or they'll introduce a new bike and the old one will become obsolete. Tell me how long you've stuck with it and whether you think it's worth it ... |
| I'm not an early adopter but I've had it 2 years and DH and I still use it around 5 times a week each. I love it. I don't think the bike will become obsolete because they are focused much more on content than on hardware. I don't know whether you'll get tired of it, but I can say that I have never stuck with any form of exercise this long - I still really enjoy it and even on days when I don't feel like it, if I make myself do it I am always happy I did. The classes are what keeps it fresh. |

if you like spin, it's great. if you can't go outside (everyone), it's great. if you have kids that nap and want to exercise while they nap, it's great. for some people, a regular exercise bike might be fine. but I'm not going to push myself without the classes, so I love it. if you're going to use it, it's well worth it.
not sure about them introducing a new bike. my understanding is that they tend to upgrade the screen, but the bike stays pretty static. they're not making giant innovations in spin bike technology. |

I've had the bike since January 2015. I ride 6 days a week for at least an hour during the day. Frequently a slow ride before shower at night to work off the stress.
Since they've added all the other classes I generally do yoga and strength, as well. Some meditation. Basically, I do something on the bike or through the app every day and have since we got it. For me it is so much easier than going to the gym. My DH alternates weights with the bike, so rides about 3 days a week, one class only. But I will say it's different now with so many people on the rides. We used to have 20 people in a class so we got to know each other and the instructors. If you get the bike, the best thing you can do if you're not someone who will just ride of your own volition, then join the official peloton page on FB, then join a subgroup. That way you make arrangements to "meet" people on the bike for classes, that will get you there if you're dragging your feet. So often with exercise it's momentum. Also, I used to run 6 days a week, but started getting injured. The switch to the bike helped with that. |

Never attended a single spin class before I bought mine
Have had it 3 years and average around 4X per week. |
| Have had it 3+ years and between me and my husband we use it every day of the week. |
| OP here - this is all very reassuring, thank you. I am pretty self-motivated -- I do Baptiste yoga on zoom 5-6 times a week generally (far more regularly than pre-quarantine when I'd alternate with Pilates and weight stuff, only occasional spinning), but I need some variety and on bad weather days I'm not getting enough exercise even with the yoga, so I thought I'd add in some spinning. I also thought my ADHD tween might use it but that's probably just wishful thinking. Thank you for the great feedback, I'm excited! |
| I wish I could peloton twice a day, every day. I’ve had it for 2 years. |
| Do you guys mostly do live classes, or are they just as good later? I am in Central European Time so that's another consideration - like are they just as good taped. I love my yoga classes bc the live element adds some accountability |
Definitely just as good later! I barely ever do the live classes. |
|
Yes, I have had it for over 4 years. Still ride it almost everyday. I just finished a 45 minute Olivia ride.
I do live classes when I can but most on demand. Part of the reason I got the bike in the first place was so that I wasn't tied to a fixed schedule as life was often getting in the way. I ride when I can. |

I'm the PP from 2015. I do a mix of both. Just finished the Alex Live at Home ride. Will ride again tonight OD using the Here Now feature.
For the European poster, they now have an instructor in Germany and two others in the UK, I think London. All three are doing Live at Home now. |
No real difference between the live classes and doing them later. If you want to have more people to high five on the leaderboard or race against in real time, then do the live classes, but there are always lots of people on lots of the classes at any time so there will always be other people doing them whenever you do them. I hardly ever do live classes because the whole benefit of the peloton is not having to be there at a specific time. Also there are so many recorded classes that you can be picky about music, instructor, length of class, type of class, etc and so there is usually something I'd rather be doing than whatever live class is on. Also they now have Peloton in Germany, with 2 instructors there (most of their classes are in German but some are in English), so you will find others riding with you at all hours of the day CET. |
| I've done 250 rides-- thought I'd get bored but I haven't. I also like that there's no excuse not to ride because even if I don't want to do the ride I had planned, I can always do a shorter/easier/different ride. I also like the app for yoga and stretching. |
| 2 1/2 years. Best money ever spent. |
