| I have been working out and tracking my calories since April 1st. I figured COVID was perfect opportunity to get my body in check. I am 5'7 and 10 months postpartum with my second. My starting weight was 210 and I am down to 200. I feel so much better and will keep going, but I just saw a picture of myself yesterday from the weekend and was mortified. I feel like it looks like I gained weight, or maybe it just a bad angle. Either way, it made me so depressed and discouraged because I feel like I have been putting in the work. When did you physically start to see a difference? |

Congratulations on your hard work!
I was going to say 10 lbs. Maybe it was an unflattering angle? |

Significant weight loss for your frame. I’m 5’4” and the only time people noticed was when I had a health crisis (thyroid storm) and went from 115 to less than 100 in two weeks. |
| I recall reading somewhere that you really notice / other people notice changes, especially in the face, after losing 2.5 (or something like that) BMI points. |
Np When I was younger I would lose weight to get someone to notice my weight loss but, now I lose weight to make me feel good. I am older than you so perhaps experience helps. To answer your question: I started my weight loss journey last August and people noticed it was when I lost thirty pounds but, I am also shorter than you so perhaps people didn't notice until it was drastic Now I am happily losing weight and doing exercises for me, not my mom or anyone else. When I got the compliment I said "thank you" |

I think it’s at least one dress size. For me it’s from size 12 to 10 (not squeezing in, really fitting well).
|
| I tell by my clothes. I first notice it in my face though- if you mean visually. And when I’ve lost a lot of weight and also gained muscle, things shift around a bit. So my face might look thinner, then less thin, then thinner overall as my body adjusts to the weight loss. Congratulations! |
| I think it depends on your frame and your face. I have a skinny face and prominent cheekbones and I notice it first in my face. |
| Hi OP, I'm about your weight (195) and have lost 20 lbs since Nov/Dec. I noticed in my clothes and face, but no where else. I think it depends on your body shape. My pants are all loose and my shirts are too big. I'm looking to lost at least another 20, but am trying to just hold steady temporarily. |
| For me, 5’9”, it was when I went from 196 to 180. |
| 20 pounds |
| As said earlier, it depends on your starting weight and frame. It also depends on how you dress. Clothes can hide a lot. |
| I’m 5’9” and was 197 lb when I was 6 months postpartum, I’ve since lost 45 pounds. I noticed when I lost about 10 lbs. my friends started noticing my weight loss at 20 lbs. |
| For me, it’s when I went down a size—about 20 pounds. When I went from 180 to 160, 12 to 10. Then again when I was 140 / 8. |
| It’s hard. I’ve never been so fat in my life. I’m 5’6 and was 228 when the stay at home orders started. I’m down to 219 and it is hard to keep motivated. When I had 20 pounds to lose total, 9 made a huge difference. Now I still have like 35 to lose just to get to the not obese but overweight category. OP, I would think at your weight you will definitely see it at 20 pounds. I know that’s tough but keep it up! |
