For us it's been sidewalk chalk--we've spent hours making designs outside (when it's not pouring rain). We've done hopscotch on the sidewalk too, which has been a huge hit. Any other little things that you've found to be fun/useful? |
We've started playing badminton with the kids. They've also been rollerblading. In general, making a point to do something active at least once (but usually more) a day has helped.
We also found a TV show that we can all enjoy together. |
I second a shared tv show - ours is Chopped Jr, which I actually read about on here. Watching this show sparked an interest in cooking in my child. We now each pick out one recipe per week from a cookbook and are each in charge of making our selected recipe. Initially we judged the dishes like in Chopped but that didn't last long! |
We bought a ping pong table for Christmas, and that has been getting decent use. I'm also glad we didn't take down the swingset that I thought the kids had outgrown. And the board games, of course, getting decent use.
Other than that, it's pretty much a TON of online games and avengers movies. Oh how I wish the libraries were open! |

Things? Nope. A person: The nanny! |
I’ve never been so happy to have a heated pool and a trampoline. We realized last week that our router is way too slow to have 5 people working online at once, so we are upgrading the routers next week. |
Nanny here and thank you! (And for what it's worth I'm still working, parents are home and we can't go anywhere and it sucks but my employers have been pretty decent and understanding.) |
The doorway gym/swing/etc. Worth every penny. |
We need higher internet speed, and a new router!!! |

Sadly Pokémon Go. It often gets us outdoors for hours. I hate it but my kids are outside and being active instead of *just* staring at a screen. |
My parents. Yes, I know I’m fortunate. |
Heated pool, lots of bourbon, live in housekeeper, and a large garden. |
