Rosemont should go to Gaithersburg and people living in Crown should go to Fields Road or Stone Mill.

Stone Mill, Dufief, Travilah, Fields Rd., and Rachel Carson should all go to Lakelands and Crown.

Rachel Carson??? Lakelands??? They are walkers to QO. Are you ok?

And again, keep Travilah out of this!

An emphatic "Keep Travilah out of this!" I applaud your resolve!

Meanwhile, as every community goes after each other and dreams up dozens of distinct plans, the board and Taylor twiddle their merry thumbs and get ready to vote on exactly what they've wanted all along...with whatever modifications come next simply being the cherry on the top of their long-desired plan.

Realistically here’s what will happened: all the current rich, well-off schools will remain largely fine.

Whitman: fine
WJ: fine
Winston Churchill: fine
Wootton after all the crying and whining will be totally fine. The FARMS rates go up to like 19%? Rosemont part of Crown are some of the wealthiest folks of Gaithersburg cluster.

Everyone else, especially Magruder, are shit out of luck.

Then the regional program comes in and will make this even worse.

Years from now, the communities at Wootton at Crown will be fine. The Crown families and the Parkway families will eventually have kids who are friends. They’ll be tight knit and forgot this infighting. And the resource hoarding will continue.

whoa whoa no one tell kentlands you just said there were richer people in gaithersburg than them

Crown money is longer than Kentlands and Lakeland money. Sorry not sorry

Aren't the most expensive single family homes in Downtown Crown more expensive than pretty much any single family home in the DuFief or Stone Mill districts too? And before anyone brings up that Downtown Crown has many apartments, in the initial Option H without FRES FARMS would have gone from 14% at current Wootton to 14.8% with Dowtown Crown added in Wootton @ Crown Farm.

So, yeah, even if Crown is in "Gburg" it doesn't reflect the reality of the general GHS or even QO area.

shh no one tell the wootton walkers that. They're worried about their home values

I can't wait for the BoE to finally vote on all this, so we can all move onto being legal experts.

Stone Mill, Travilah, Dufief, Fields, Rosemont @ THE brand new Crown Farm North Potomac High School

Please keep Travilah out of this. Travilah overwhelmingly do not want H and want to stay with Fallsmead and Lakewood at Wootton. Our recent school wide survey showed over 87% of Travilah families oppose going to Crown.

I can’t speak for Stone Mill, but it sounds like only Dufief wants to go, which by all means please go but stop trying to lump Travilah with you.

We don’t stand with Dufief

That survey was manipulated my dude.

Would you call that “how to lie with statistics”

That “how to generate fake emails” and/or “how to use AI to flood the reponses”!

One day we will all learn that a survey response is a different than a vote.

If it agrees with my per-determined agenda, it's legitimate. But if not, it's manipulated.

It’s only 2.6 miles to QOHS from Travilah. I wonder if BOE knows this. Just saying…

And? Dufief is even closer to QO and closer to Crown.

Not to mention Travilah boundaries are kind of crazy. Lots of Travilah ES families actually live closer to Churchill.

This is demonstrably false. I just checked. The boundary between Travilah and Potomac ES is Travilah Road. The farthest south section of the Travilah district, which is the Canal Vista neighbourhood, which stands at:

- 6.6 mi from Quince Orchard
- 7.6 mi from Crown
- 8.1 mi from Wootton
- 9.7 mi from Churchill

Travilah should be QO <3 <3

O you straight up have no idea what Travilah boundaries are

Oh, I straight up do. I used the map and checked via the MCPS GIS school assignment tool. Travilah's boundaries going towards the river extend significantly to the west. That's the opposite direction of Churchill, hon.

I’ll use a shopping center without doxing where I live. But look at the Potomac oak shopping center. I am zoned for Travilah but Churchill by distance and time is the closest school to me.

Distance to High Schools from the Potomac Oak Shopping Center:

QO: 4 miles

Crown: 5.7 miles

Wootton: 6.2 miles

Churchill: 6.2 miles

...

The area to the East of that shopping center (ie to the East of Travilah road on Gled rd) is districted to Potomac and Churchill, so I know you can't live closer to Churchill than that.

Quince Orchard is triumphant again

But how can Travilah go to QO when Dufief is closer. Dufief is less than two miles depending on where one lives.

We insist Dufief go to QO.

You’re so scared that you can’t even admit many homes in Travilah are actually closer to QO than any other HS.

At least Dufief is realistic - we’ve already been apparently closed and divided to Stone Mill and Travilah so in the upcoming ES boundary study we will be in fact moving to QO with Travilah and Crown with Stone Mill.

The irony is that Wootton Walkers will now share a holding school with Magruder @ Wootton on the Parkway. It’s the perfect plan.

Politicians will have feasted on the carcasses enough and it’s the lawyers turn next.

Good job guys. So much voting last night. I’ll provide an update on where we stand ASAP.

Recent additions to the ballot include Travilah, Stone Mill, and… Kentlands?! Yikes

What’s the final DCUM vote? Are we winning yet?

How do Stone Mill families feel about being Dufief’s fool? The Board voted down amendments. Stone Mill is going to Hoover by itself without any other Wootton cluster ES and will leave Hoover MS as the only Crown HS group.

O and your walkable to Crown!

What does Dufief have to do with that LOL

Exactly. It’s pretty ironic to me how some Stone Mill people are speaking with vitriol of DuFief. If this were 15 years ago when Wootton was genuinely crowded, Stone Mill would absolutely be moving to a new “Crown High” as the 27th HS. In fact, it’s the closest elementary school of the current Wootton cluster to the new Crown facility.

But SMES people are here pretending they’re more like Fallsmead than DuFief.

Okayyyyyyy

Because they are the biggest winners. Went from being the only school from Wootton to go to crown by themselves to dragging the rest of the cluster with them only to make stone mill now isolated in middle school and Travilah isolated in another middle school.

By the time kids go to hs, ironically parkway families and their enemies will be friends and SM and Travilah kids will be the pariahs.
