Magruder gets back to their newly rebuilt school after being a holding at the parkway with the Wootton walkers. |
Nope, believe it or not stone mill is very much divided. There are pta members at both SM and Wootton from the neighborhood that oppose H |
Distance to High Schools from the Potomac Oak Shopping Center: QO: 4 miles Crown: 5.7 miles Wootton: 6.2 miles Churchill: 6.2 miles ... The area to the East of that shopping center (ie to the East of Travilah road on Gled rd) is districted to Potomac and Churchill, so I know you can't live closer to Churchill than that. Quince Orchard is triumphant again
|
But how can Travilah go to QO when Dufief is closer. Dufief is less than two miles depending on where one lives. We insist Dufief go to QO. |
|
Wow Dufief sure has many friends and is so sought after. Crown wants Dufief and now QO wants Dufief too!
Sadly, Wootton does not want Dufief 👋 |
|
Stone Mill, Dufief and Travilah should all be going to the same middle and high school.
Rosemont should go to Gaithersburg and people living in Crown should go to Fields Road or Stone Mill. Stone Mill, Dufief, Travilah, Fields Rd., and Rachel Carson should all go to Lakelands and Crown. |
Some of this made sense, but Rachel Carson should go to Crown instead of walking to Quince Orchard??? |
Rachel Carson??? Lakelands??? They are walkers to QO. Are you ok? And again, keep Travilah out of this! |
| Not this thread baiting Kentlands to rage quit this whole boundary study |
Wouldn’t be enough for Crown to be its own school without it and would be more beneficial for Rachel Carson to join the former Wootton schools. Wootton can stay in their building, but they get all of Rosemont (Crown residents and those over near 355). Crown/Wootton become nearly even after that. |
An emphatic "Keep Travilah out of this!" I applaud your resolve! Meanwhile, as every community goes after each other and dreams up dozens of distinct plans, the board and Taylor twiddle their merry thumbs and get ready to vote on exactly what they've wanted all along...with whatever modifications come next simply being the cherry on the top of their long-desired plan. |
Travilah is on the corner of Dufief Mill Rd and, you got it… Quince Orchard Rd. If anything, Travilah goes to QO and Dufief and Stone Mill stay at Wootton. The whole new neighborhood across from Travilah should be QO all the way. |
Realistically here’s what will happened: all the current rich, well-off schools will remain largely fine. Whitman: fine WJ: fine Winston Churchill: fine Wootton after all the crying and whining will be totally fine. The FARMS rates go up to like 19%? Rosemont part of Crown are some of the wealthiest folks of Gaithersburg cluster. Everyone else, especially Magruder, are shit out of luck. Then the regional program comes in and will make this even worse. Years from now, the communities at Wootton at Crown will be fine. The Crown families and the Parkway families will eventually have kids who are friends. They’ll be tight knit and forgot this infighting. And the resource hoarding will continue. |
| A friend of mine who works at Magruder says the school is not in good shape but is nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be. Same with Wootton where my cousin’s wife works. |
Falling ceilings are not that bad? |
