Completely agree. |
They've likely already "found out." This guy is a child molester. The children have likely been molested. Lock him away. |
Exactly. Label it as criminal. Because it is. |
| Do you think is dummy wife will finally divorce him. These fundies all seem to have major emotional and mental issues. Shcoking, he molested kids when he was a teen and the religious retreat didnt "cure" him. at least now, maybe ALL the duggers will go away. |
Michelle claims she was using birth control, got pregnant and miscarried and thats when they decided to turn over all baby making to the Lords hand and Jim Bobs! |
I mean, on some level, in this case, ignorance IS bliss. What's the average Joe supposed to do about dark web child sexual abuse? What does our knowledge bring to the problem? |
That was really fascinating. I never heard of this woman's channel before but I really like it. She's pretty cool. |
Right? I mean maybe if we all knew how atrocious it is, the publicity around it would bring perps to justice better? Maybe? But that doesn’t mean people need to post descriptions of what sound pretty close to snuff videos of kids |
It’s the difference between calling things what they are and are not. Difficult to fight something unnamed. |
1. The "average Joe" needs to know that this is NOT "normal porn", because without that knowledge the average Joe might not understand the depth of the depravity and the severity of the crime; they might not fully recognize it when they have a brush with someone into this kind of thing. They might be more inclined to forgive or overlook, OR they might not recognize the signs that someone close to them is into this sick stuff. For example, an average Joe spouse might be uncomfortable that their husband is into porn, but not realize that the presence of that Tor browser could indicate that what he is viewing isn't in the same category as the kind of porn the average Joe understands. 2. I DO think it is important for the average Joe to fully understand what this filth is and to feel the kind of anger, disgust, and revulsion such knowledge brings, because the attitudes and knowledge of the average Joe largely dictate what a society is willing to accept. I think it is important for anyone like Josh who has those tendencies to realize that acting on their sick desires for this material will result in absolute and permanent exclusion from society. Josh is surrounded by people who shield themselves from full knowledge of the darker things in life, and this is partly why he was able and willing to do what he did and also to expect (rightfully) that his half-comprehending family and friends would overlook his vices when discovered because they wouldn't fully understand them anyway. 3. Average Joes who get angry enough as they gain realization of an issue are more likely to actively seek ways to demand changes to society and laws and their community. You need the full brunt of that disgust and anger that comes with complete knowledge, because that kind of awakening is what drives change in society. We need that. If you can't be bothered to feel a twinge of discomfort on behalf of these victimized children, all because you prefer to turn away and focus on your vanilla-perfect average Joe life, you are part of the problem. You are. How many abused children could have been seen and helped earlier if the adults in their world were diligent, informed, and ready to be alert to something wrong? As someone who was abused as a child, I remember every time an adult in my world saw something or suspected something, but didn't do anything, and I know it was because they didn't want to deal with a scene or a conflict or unpleasantness. 4. I think the victims of these crimes deserve our thoughts and our indignation. Choosing to close your eyes and willfully look away from the sordid details means that you are closing your eyes and wilfully looking away from the victims themselves. If you have ever been abused, you will know how isolating it is, even years later, to feel damaged and "othered" by what happened. If you don't know that, you can probably imagine how that might feel (I hope you are willing to do that, anyway). A great deal of evil happens in our world, not because people don't see it, but because they prefer not to allow themselves to know. |
Agree. I’d never heard of her either but I like her. Wish it weren’t so long though. Too much with the throat-clearing introductories before she really gets going... |
I completely agree. I posted a very vague description of what I understand the particular video he had on his possession to be about and it was deleted and I respect that. But I do think people should google “Peter scully” (I know the last name is right not positive on first name and not going to google again) and just read the brief Wikipedia article depicting the videos he made. That’s what josh Duggar paid to watch. That’s not “porn”. |
|
And do head over to the Fox News comment section on this story.
Plenty of posters are over there defending Josh Duggar. Specifically defending what he did to his sisters. Never look away. Always name it. It’s the very least victims deserve. |
I agree. This is not a case of pornography. It’s something much worse and people, who make up juries, need to understand that. As uncomfortable as it might be. |
| I an't believe Anna didn't attend his bail hearing. What spouse wouldn't just zoom right on into that? |
