Biden's VP?

Whitmer grew up rich, connected, and all she could manage was TTT.

Klobs grew up much more modestly and went to Y and then a T6 school.

Klobs is also more experienced, but she has a mean steak and I doubt AAs will like her.

Klobs is also more honest in her political views -- she doesn't try to be something she's not.

Whitmer’s parents were connected bureaucrats and her dad was the CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shields. Dad is also a U of Michigan grad. If she wanted to go to more prestigious U of Michigan instead of lowly Michigan State, it would have been one phone call. I suspect the double MSU degrees were about bolstering Lansing connections and broader statewide ‘everyman’ appeal. Most U of Michigan students are non-residents; most of their graduates flee the state; MSU grads control Michigan politics.

He was not CEO of “Blue Cross and Blue Shields” (Shield should not be plural) , he was CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan. Each Blue Cross and Blue Shield is a separate entity the is connected through the BCBS network. Over the years, some have merged together. Some are non-profit and some are community owned.

You’re being a pettifogger. The point remains, maybe Gretchen Whitmer is a low watt sorority bimbo, but her father was wealthy and very, very connected—she didn’t have to go to lowly Michigan State University unless she really wanted to. Very easy for her dad to get her into U of Michigan if not Northwestern if she wanted.

Gretchen was the president of her sorority at MSU. She also interned for the MSU athletic department, initially wanting to be a sports reporter or some such — an internship at the Lansing State Capitol her father arranged led to a pivot to politics. She was a State Rep by age 28.

Going to MSU could have been something as simple as it being closer to home or that’s where her best friends from high school were heading.

Who TF cares where Whitmer went to school?? Honestly, at some point in your adult life, it ceases to matter for most Americans - except of course in the DC bubble.

I don't think it's a DC bubble thing. It's a little eyebrow raising when rich and connected folks attend open door tailgate state party schools. Especially this example, with her dad being a hyper-connected University of Michigan grad. It's probably a safe bet she was a partying sorority girl at Michigan State, who didn't spend too many Saturday nights in the library.

Obviously this didn't hold her back in her political career. But it's striking compared to Obama, who wasn't content with Occidental College, transferred to Ivy... and then set his sights on Harvard and Yale Law Schools, i.e. the best.

Media sure cared about academic pedigree in 2008 when a ditz from Alaska joined McCain...

Biden's got the AAs covered. Klobuchar is more experienced, energetic and frankly seems more intellectual than Whitmer.

Sure do not want this happening again.

Whitmer went to one college, not six.

And she just pwned Ivy League douchebag Ted Cruz.

MSU was the top party school in the US in the late 80s, early 90s; she majored in “communications” and was a sorority girl. Then on to the worst law school in Michigan... even though she was born rich and had parents with mucho clout. She’ll make a fine vp... but let’s not pretend there’s nothing to her “Gretchen Half-Whitmer” nickname. Biden is a fool for commiting to a woman vp — Cuomo is the OBVIOUS choice.
