Metro United

Spirit MU/ whatever you want call it, is a failed DA club.

The club ranks at the very bottom of the DA. It is the worst performing club in the history of GDA. They are worse than the clubs that got kicked out of the DA. They got a year extension and then it's over. Likely handed over to a real club.

But I digress.

But they got rid of that pesky professional team affiliation that was holding them back. It’s smooth sailing from here. Their July ID session will be loaded with talent. Are they going to be able to field a team in each DA age group next year?

Meh. If you say it enough, maybe it will come true.

So head to head results isn't good enough?

There is only a smattering of examples of head to head competition and they are dated relative to next years teams. Hardly enoigh for the previous lists to have any validity DA vs ECNL as a whole.

VDA played Spirit MD and VA just this past February and didn't beat either team! That is hardly a game from the time of Antiquity.

VDA 04 beat Spirit 2-0. So specify the age group. I mean, I know you're 05 but tell everyone else so they can follow

Also beat them in 06. It always comes back to spirit 05 winning a showcase game.

It wasn't a MU parent who brought a rankings list being discussed in a completely different thread, copied and pasted it into the MU thread. The mental gymnastics that people need to create scenarios to bash Spirit/MU when they are't even involved in the discussion is absolutely mental.

And yet here YOU are in a thread about a team that supposedly doesn't matter. What did they do to you to have such pain?

This board makes me laugh. MU is living rent free in some heads for sure. Good sign for them.

Living rent free in the head of every ecnl and da in the market. What are they afraid of if metro is going to be so bad?

1 FCV DA, but barely over ...
2 Bethesda ECNL (due to Rush Coyote player and coach influx)
3 McLean ECNL
4 Arlington DA
5 VDA ECNL
6 Loudoun ECNL
7 tie: BRYC ECNL, MU DA

I think what some of you may be missing regarding Bethesda as my #2 is that their team will be significantly improved in the fall due to wholesale addition of many players from the Mont. Rush Coyotes as well as their coach. This is not a historical look, but a look forward.

Also - there is no indication on this forum if MU will be any better. Did they pick up new players that are significantly better than last years and/or did they less talented players that got to play too much last season?

I know McLean picked up three good players hence the #3 ranking.

Also, someone said BRYC would be improved. Why?

Nobody is discussing the rankings here. Go to the actual discussion thread on the topic.

2005 was one of the overloaded rosters last year. Are you sure it was the better players?
