I don't think we know yet what or what didn't happen. This seems to be taken seriously enough by the Chicago police department. I honestly don't have any prediction how this turns out. And I am the OP of this thread.

If you're really the OP of this thread it seems that the thread title kind of made your (at least initial) prediction.

pp here. Wonder if the OP has "any prediction how this turns out" at this point. Yeah, yeah, I know this is a d1ck move bringing up a post from 01/30/2019 19:45 three weeks later but it did trigger a debate (starting on page 10) that is comedy gold at this point.

Anybody with any common sense and not blinded by the pathological need for this to be true could see just how ridiculous all this was from the very outset. Just glad that law enforcement didn't let this fade away into obscurity.

Except there is a risk for candidates who are looking for moderate support. I’m independent, no party affiliation. And I’m paying attention to the D candidates and what they do now. I don’t even expect that much. But something better than pretending the reaction never happened.

It’s not from today, but still a good piece. Thanks for sharing. As Carlson says, Smollett’s “attack” was USEFUL, and that’s why it got the media attention it did in comparison to the other crimes Chicago sees on a daily basis.
