But what would this mentally ill person have done without legally purchased guns? Not shoot 6 people dead.

There are other ways to harm than just guns. Such as bombs, using cars as a weapon, poisonous gas, etc.

If someone wants to kill, they’re going to do it. Taking one tool away to kill won’t solve that.

So then how come you don’t hear about mass killings in Australia, China, Russia, Europe?
You think they have fewer mentally ill people?

You know, it’s useless to explain to pro gun people that they can live differently. Most of them haven’t been out of the country or even their county. They are not worldly. They are not open minded.

They cannot phantom that it’s possible to live differently.

You can try to explain to them how the rest if civilized world lives without guns and mass shootings, active shooter drills and are happy.

But they lack imagination and open mind, so it’s a leap they cannot make.

In China they have mass stabbing.

PP here- Its relevant because its a possible (likely) motive for the shooting. A conservative school that likely didn't support this student in the way they thought they should be supported. In a state that is make life hell for trans people. It’s as relevant as any other motive, why bury it? I'm guessing you don't have an issue around reporting when a white supremicist shoots up a Black church? It’s just seems like disingenuious reporting by a serious new outlet.

why do you think the school was conservative? It is presbytarian...

Someone posted earlier that the school is PCA, not PCUSA. That’s the more conservative flavor of Presbyterian.

Thank you for posting that. I've been very confused about it since I thought Presbyterians were just less formal Episcopalians. Didn't realize that there's an entire world of offshoot flavors.

Covenant school is a feeder school for Christ Presbyterian Academy (CPA), also PCA associated. governor lees kids graduated from CPA. The same governor who is banning trans healthcare for minors, etc. really surprised this connection hasn’t been talked about. Any yes, the covenant families are likely republicans who support Lee and rep ogles.

Well this is interesting. Curious why nobody on the news mentioned this yet.

The shooter was probably (and rightly) feeling directly targeted by the anti-trans agenda being pushed by the Governor, the church and its network, and other Tennessee officials.

There is no "anit-trans" agenda.

All of the laws that have been put in place affect CHILDREN. She was not a child.

Everyone making about trans - that wasn’t what it was about, what caused her troubles. I know families from the area and people from the school.

That’s just nonsense. We can reduce the number and severity of mass shootings.

I read that the shooter’s family didn’t think she should’ve had guns and thought she had sold her only one.

In the absence of federal legislation, people have to keep a vigilant eye on anyone they think should not have access to weapons.

Does Tennessee have red flag laws?

She was mad at the school and her parents for not letting her be a male. It was on the news

Then why don’t we see this happening with the same frequency in other countries?

That is just NRA utter no sense. Ignore the NRA fools and focus on supporting pro gun control representation.

You think a law will stop someone from killing? They’re going to kill or find an gun regardless of the law.

It’s against the law to kill, right? So what’s stopping someone from getting an AR if it’s also against the law? A murdered doesn’t care about the law.

Because other countries don’t push violence on tv 24/7 like America does.

And they have much more strict gun regulation they usually pass after the first mass shooting. Unlike the US where guns more before people.

Yup. In the US, mass shootings BOOST gun sales.

That’s just how dysfunctional our country is.

I remember when the NRA was pro gun control…. Back when the Black Panthers were walking around open carrying.

It is a vile, racist, evil organization that hates America and all it stands for.

As it should be. I want to protect myself from a crazy shooter.
