Carnegie Mellon vs UVA where would you go?

Engineering or math major, is it worth to spend $40k more every year?

Engineering is a pretty big disparity, but math less so. $40k would be a lot to me.

CM for sure.

Career center / job opportunities way better and that’s the goal. Plus Pittsburgh is a great place.

Save money for grad school.

CMU. No doubt.
Just look at the average SATs within the same major.
Also, starting salaries.
If you graduate from CMU, across the nation people will always know that you are smart and a hard worker.

You didn’t actually think that you could post that question here and not have all the VA people say it is superior, did you?

CMU is one of the top computer science schools, if not the top in the country. If you intend to take a minor in CS or interested in any interdisciplinary study involving CS, go to CMU. If money is not an issue, go to CMU. If you want a relatively relaxed college life and save some money, UVA is a fantastic school too.
