Jefferson Cup Canceled

Due to the latest development of the COVID-19 in the last 12-24 hours, we have CANCELLED this weekend's Jefferson Cup for the U10-U14 Girls.

We will be making a decision on the Boys and Girls Showcases by next Tuesday, March 17.

Everything about this sucks. But I'd rather everything get cancelled now in March/early April if it will help curb the spread of this awful virus so that things can resume back to normal in May/June.....if they cancel senior prom and graduation in May/June it will be even worse.

Yea it sucks, but in the overall scheme of the next 60 days this will likely be the least important thing that got changed.

It will suck if the older jeff cup is off, has a direct impact on recruiting

That ship sailed when the colleges decided to suspend or go virtual. Not going to be much recruiting without college coaches.

Agreed. My daughter's college closes for "in seat" instruction for the rest of the semester on Friday. Athletic events are cancelled. With these cancellations I will be shocked if the Showcase events are not cancelled as well. My younger daughter is a freshman in HS, and I wonder if her high school season will be the next thing suspended.

Is Jefferson Cup still happening in July for girls showcase ages? With the NCAA extending the dead period, it isn’t ideal.

The last email they sent said that they have to get clearance to play by June 8 or they will cancel - so I guess we will know in the next week-ish. Their website has NOTHING on it, though, about 2020 jeff cup so my guess is that they aren't thinking it is likely. I just looked into it last night for my 2 teams.
