They are probably having far fewer teams apply. The Jeff Cup is about making money period. The Covid cancellation guarantee is if cancelled 30 days from tournament they will refund. That's great for them but not for teams that don't control their own states guidelines on travel. For a tournament to be successful during covid teams need protection that they will get a refund if they can't travel due to covid. Last year they "cancelled" the girls weekend and the showcases. They did not refund they rescheduled and if you were from a state that was not legally allowed to travel, tough luck they kept the money. |
| Brackets and accepted teams are up for Boys Weekend. Lots of out of state teams. Hell, might be more MD teams in than NOVA teams. |
http://jeffersoncup.strikerstournaments.com/tournament-dates-1 Really? Up already? |
Is this final? No Arlington, Loudoun or McLean? Are they boycotting? |
I see Arlington and Loudoun (looking at U14) |
Those are second teams. Not their ECNL |
Not playing any younger top teams at U10-12. |
Loudoun and BRYC ECNL teams are in. Arlington U14 coach doesn't like tournaments. |
Sanity. |
On the girls side McLean coaches don't like them either. They coach too many teams and it's a logistical nightmare. |
For all those people that rate NCSL, I noticed in this age group that no NCSL teams were accepted. That shows you how Jeff Cup ranks leagues. |
Where are you seeing who is accepted? When I go to the website it says they are still taking teams and no schedule or accepted teams are posted. |
|
PP: It's just the younger boys right now that has been posted. The girls and both showcases will be posted soon, likely next week according to the website. See U10-U15 boys accepted teams and brackets here:

You can't make that assumption without comparing to a applied list. |
