Down 15 pounds since Jan 1.

Anonymous
Feeling really proud of myself but I'm not one to boast IRL. Jan 1 I made a commitment to lose the extra weight. Unfortunately between PPD, then a health issue, and then an injury, my weight has really gone up in the last 7 years.

So I hired someone at the start of the year to just help me rework my diet and nutrition plans and I'm so glad.

I'm just counting macros. Nothing from my diet has been eliminated and I can still have bad food, just limited amounts. I'm so thrilled. Today, I'm wearing jeans that are 2 sizes smaller than the jeans I was wearing at my new year's party, though I've probably lost about a size and a half because those were a bit loose.

Anyone else having success so far this year?

Thanks! We were on vacation last week and it was definitely a bit more of a challenge. But I was able to indulge a bit and just kicked up my activity level a little and actually lost a pound! I didn't feel like I wasn't letting myself enjoy the food there so I'm hopeful that that's a good sign I can stick with this long term.

That's crazy I lost 10 but I won't go down a size in jeans unless I lose 30 more.

How do you lose 15 and go down 2 sizes in jeans?

Down 5lbs and eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Maybe if I get quarantined while healthy, I'll have time for some exercise.

Sure.

I work out 4-5 days a week - 1 hour intense classes plus strength training.
1500 calorie goal

Carbs - 35 % which is 131g a day.
Protein - 40% 150g
Fat - 25% . 41g

I'll be honest I normally wind up a bit under my calorie goal for the day and under my protein goal. I average out to about 100g of protein a day. My favorite protein bars are Built Bars and my protein powder is Alani Nu.

How do you lose 15 and go down 2 sizes in jeans?

I've always been about 10 pounds per size. Probably depend where you lose your weight first. Most of the weight I've lost is in my hips, and thighs. Plus it's About a size and a half. Jeans at the start were a little loose. The jeans I have on now will still fit when I drop a few more pounds as they are in the "just fitting properly" stage. I had on jeans one size up during vacation and kept having to stop to pull them up!!

Different poster, but I'm short. 5 lbs is a dress size for me. There just isn't much space for weight to go when you are short. I have a friend (woman) who is nearly 6 ft tall and once mentioned that she'd gained 17 pounds, and I couldn't even tell. Tall people can gain or lose a lot of weight before it is noticeable.

Congratulations! I fell off the bandwagon after a successful few months at the end of the year and I’ve been struggling to get back on. Your post is so inspiring! I’m going to get moving and start watching my diet again. Thanks for sharing!

What? You need to lose 40 pounds to go down one pants size?

10 lbs per size is normal.
