Down 15 pounds since Jan 1.

Ugh, I've gained 20 pounds since Christmas (how is this even possible?). Would you mind sharing who you reached out to for help? I need someone to help me put together a plan (dietitician? nutritionist? registered?) Last year I tried a weight loss clinic and it was a bust (just wanted me to take pills) and an internal medicine doctor who specializes in weight loss (super nice but I didn't lose anything except a lot of copays) so I'm a bit lost where to go for tailored help.

How do you lose 15 and go down 2 sizes in jeans?

I've always been about 10 pounds per size. Probably depend where you lose your weight first. Most of the weight I've lost is in my hips, and thighs. Plus it's About a size and a half. Jeans at the start were a little loose. The jeans I have on now will still fit when I drop a few more pounds as they are in the "just fitting properly" stage. I had on jeans one size up during vacation and kept having to stop to pull them up!!

I think the smaller you are, the less difference there is in sizes. I lost 10-15 lbs (depending on day and time of month) and went from a size 6 to a size 2.

Great work OP. Are you at goal or still losing?

Still losing! Have a bit to go to reach goal but I'm feeling good about it for the first time in a long time. Also I'm definitely larger than a 6 !

Good for you, OP! I’ve lost 15 since mid January! Feeling great here too! Doing a similar plan with the macros and workouts.

That's great, OP! I've lost 15 lbs and am still wearing the same size pants. Really disappointed after reading about how so many of you are down 2 sizes.

Great job, OP! I've lost 9 pounds since Jan 20th, also counting macros (along with some carb-cycling and very mild Intermittent Fasting, in a program with a coach and daily accountability)!

I've lost 6 lbs! So happy, because it was really hard.

Congrats OP!

I kind of started Jan 1 with Dry January and walking more around the house/increasing activity. I didn’t have the courage to step on the scale until almost the end of January, when I decided to get stricter with myself and start seriously changing my diet /tracking/ planning exercise, etc. I’m down 17lbs since then, so I’m down at least that since the beginning of the year. More importantly, my clothes are fitting so much better, I’m sleeping better, and I am much calmer, happier, and self confident. So much more to go, but I feel like I’m on a good track/lifestyle change, not a “diet”. I used to be very active, so this is almost like getting back to my normal vs. How I was for the last few years.

I am 5'1" and when I lose 7 or 8 pounds people notice. It is a pants size for me.

Congratulations on your weight loss OP! Wishing you continued success on your health journey.

I’ve lost 11 since Jan 2. I’m still looking to lose another 2-7 lbs. I haven’t decided if my end game is going to be 130 or 125 lbs.

How tall are you?

Congrats!! I have lost about 16 with keto and IF in the new year. I’m down 2 sizes and it feels wonderful. If I stopped drinking I probably could lose at a quicker pace, but I honestly just can’t give up the wine & vodka sodas.

^^

Don't give up the wine or vodka soda, just reduce. 1 glass instead of 2, for example. It will take a few months, but you will lose some weight, as long as you are not substituting something else, like chocolate!

5’ 5”. I run and work out a lot so I have a good amount of muscle. Also in my 40s so I need to keep some fat in my face.

Same! I'm proud of myself because I've disrupted my usual pattern. Usually I drop two lbs really fast, then gain some back. When I see my weight going back up, I give up. Now I'm just focusing on my plan even if the scale is up.
