The announcement on Archewell, like everything on Archewell, came across as if they invented it, that the concert is their idea. It seems to be how they see themselves. But I'll be generous and just assume that they don't know how to do PR any differently, that they don't actually see themselves that way.

My point is that their PR is embarrassing because (1) it's clearly not very effective, despite fact that they're paying $$$ to an agency that is the among the best in the business, and (2) they're trying to keep themselves in the news so desperately (without having any real reason to be) that they're resorting to doing things like telling People that they "privately wished" W&K happy anniversary. If it was a private wish - and they repeatedly ask for privacy - why does People need to know about it?

The first bolded comment was in response to a poster trying to paint Global Citizen as a shady organization simply because they chose Meghan and Harry as the LiveVax Concert campaign chairs.

Regardless of how you feel about Meghan or any of the celebrities and world leaders working on the LiveVax concert, it is objectively a good thing. Global Citizen is a reputable anti-poverty organization. LiveVax is raising funds to provide Covid Vaccines to underserved countries. Getting vaccines to people who need them is a good thing.
