I always find it interesting that Americans seemingly limit racism to AAs. The reality is that every single racial, ethnic, religious, etc. group has to deal with stupid bias, prejudice, etc. including white people sometimes. |
Wait I thought Reagan was a Republican, not a Democrat??? |
Agreed. We need to be nimble in dealing with our societal problems together. Frustrating because it is doable. Someone has to make he first step towards compromising - a dirty word in today's culture. |
Then maybe you should try to get the Democratic Party to reflect what the majority of Democrats want rather than bowing to the fringe elements in the party who have unrealistic plans that cater to a few. |
The OP made the topic Baltimore. Yes I knew the White House has a rat infestation. The rats come from the Old Ebbitt Grill, a top grossing restaurant in DC. G |
It was Kennedy and Johnson’s Great Society Programs. |
Before the Great Society programs one in four Americans lived in poverty http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/special/national/great-society-at-50/?noredirect=on |
OP made the topic Baltimore because Trump made the topic Baltimore. Every city has poverty and rats - why did he pick this one? |
Well said. Though I don't agree Trump is a racist. |
Re: the bolded, just wanted to point out that this is very much a liberal strategy too. You see it all the time, all over this forum. Trump supporters, or even conservatives in general are always painted as the "other" and called all manner of insults, which I won't bother repeating here. |
+1 And the blaming of the BP really is beyond the pale - as if BP is somehow responsible for the fact that there is nowhere to put the thousands of people descending on the border. They're doing the best they can and I certainly don't envy their positions. |

Excellent op-ed from the WSJ. It's firewalled though, so unless you have a subscription, you won't be able to read it.

I see the headline. I don't hear anyone blaming Trump for Baltimore's ills. What people are blaming Trump for is his disgusting rat-like demagoguery, attacking an entire city in order to get "even" with a congressman whose district includes some of that city. |
Holy schmokes. |
Except for that guy who told a sick 3 year old named Sophie to make a choice between her mother and father, to decide which one she wanted to go with and which one to be sent back. I really don't think anyone can argue that guy was doing the best he could. |
