Interesting that in this terrible place - not - Kevin Plank decided to headquarter his company. I practiced at a large law firm in Baltimore, people are just so ignorant. It's a wonderful place with some bad parts. Did Trump forget that he was from a big urban city? I don't see him trying to move from NY to Idaho.
Can you imagine any of the Trumps ever deigning to live in Idaho? They are urban elitists and would never, ever consider it.
This is rich, considering the way in which liberals on DCUM (and elsewhere) constantly trash talk places like Idaho as "flyover country." Forget the Trumps - YOU are the urban elitists who would never, ever consider living there. Meanwhile, I have lots of family in Idaho. It's a beautiful, clean place. Hope to retire there someday.
I mean, “flyover country” is a very weak criticism when compared to what Trump said about Baltimore and her residents.
No one else has noticed the current state of Baltimore?
No one else has noticed the current state of depressed rural America?
Do all of your responses consist of whataboutism? This thread is about Baltimore. Keep up.
No this thread is about the President’s re-election strategy. I think they have decided that they will not win in diverse urban areas anyway and they need their base to turn out They are hoping to pump up their base but fostering “us versus them “ type divisions. That is why you have seen an increase in racist comments (“go back to where you come from “ to American born Congresswomen of color and the use of the word “infestation “ to describe a city with a large African American population. It is very deliberate. The 2020 election is going to be a turnout election so he wants his base to be daring to go, and for Democratic voters to feel depressed and worn out. I think he is counting on his comments to really resonate with his base (and drive up turnout) and also hoping that white, moderate voters in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania will not care enough to show up at the polls but might just end up fed up by the back and forth. The more he does this the more the face of the Democratic Party becomes people like AOC etc.
Re: the bolded, just wanted to point out that this is very much a liberal strategy too. You see it all the time, all over this forum. Trump supporters, or even conservatives in general are always painted as the "other" and called all manner of insults, which I won't bother repeating here.
