What do you mean by "banging it" ? Is that some big boot out of the back up the middle or are you saying they drive up through the midfield in a possession style? I usually find the problem when you get to 11 v 11 isn't a style problem as much as it is a personnel problem. Can they add enough players that strengthen/maintain the quality or will the core group get diluted by who they add?

When DD has played them, it's been a bit of a midfield swarm. Not a whole lot of use of the back after the ball is pushed up, and a lot of attempted dribbling through players rather than passing to open up space (which will work even better on a bigger field). Sometimes they did build from the back, but often got a girl with a big foot to boot it as well. Mainly chaos in the middle, which rubs off on the opponent as well. So I wouldn't say possession specifically -- not that they weren't necessarily trying, just playing too bunched.

That doesn't sound bad. They are young. They need to be allowed some room to make mistakes. The swarm effect may improve with coaching and technical work. I like that better than the big balls being launched by the back line to the front.

Gfr 08 is an excellent and fast team. You’re just looking for things to pick on.

Or you ran into a team that was faster. Speed is like that...if you are the fastest player or team you just have not played at a high enough level.

Which Richmond? I didn't think Richmond United even has an 08 team. Was it Richmond Kickers? Richmond Strikers? FC Richmond?

So Youth Soccer ranking are what they are but Richmond Strikers are number in the Region 1(by a wide margin). Only two teams in the area break the top 20 in Region 1- Pipeline(11) and Loudoun(17). Region 1 is the weakest of 4 regions. In Region 4 the Strikers would be around the 11 team in the region. Nova is not a strong soccer area. After watching wags top flight teams rip through the DMV’s top teams, I do not see the 08’s suddenly improving at u13 . The top teams from outside of the area play soccer. They had similar athleticism but were a lot more technical.

The "silent" agreement between the two clubs is a certain number if Richmond Kickers and Richmond Strikers players. Most teams have a roughly 50/50 split with a some spots for outside players. My point though was to just say "Richmond" isn't meaningful unless it is an ECNL or DA thread. Just be specific. That's all I was getting at.

Arlington tournament has VSA, Strikers, Arlington Red, SYC. Any reason Loudoun Red didn't sign up or PWSI RL? seems like every strong 08 girls team will be at this tournament. Why wouldn't Loudoun sign up?

ASIST is not a premier tournament thats why no one signed up. Why would they with Jeff Cup the weekend after.

ASIST is not a premier tournament thats why no one signed up. Why would they with Jeff Cup the weekend after.

Teams play it as a warm up. The number 1 team in the state is playing. I would think any top team in the area(BSC and Pipeline) would want to play a game against them. I just do not know how you do the flights with the current teams.

You think there would be more CCL teams?? Can we read anything into that? Arlington white has moved out of the CCL2 and you never hear anything positive about CCL. Could this be a sign of the slow death of the CCL?
