It’s fine to have a completely independent organization that has an international focus but then they should play by different rules than colleges for American students play by.

It is a private school and can admit whoever it wants.

And you know what, all of those public flagships also want the best and brightest from around the world. And all of those foreign students pay full freight and offset the tuitions for the instate and scholarship kids from the USA. A win-win that if it goes away, will put hundreds of schools out of business.

It may be a private school, but it receives billions of taxpayer dollars, which means it has to play by the rules set forth by government.

The rules are not decided arbitrarily by the president, esp after the fact. And they set those rules when they apply for grants and receive them, so again...

This move by Trump is not because they "broke the rules." It is because they would not release PRIVATE STUDENT DATA.

At least try to get your talking points straight with Trump's various illegal tantrums

Is violating the civil rights of Jewish students on campus included in, as you shouted it, “ PRIVATE STUDENT DATA” ??

So you're OK with punishing thousands of other students for the sins of a few? And I'm not sure how widespread this antisemitism is. Sounds like someone's crying wolf to me.

ADL classifies pro-Palestinian speech as antisemitism. It also classifies anything that puts Israel in an unfavorable light as antisemitism. Their numbers are not honest.

Why stop there? From now on, no out of state admissions at any public or private university in the United States.

I keep hearing this argument tossed around, that the full-price tuition of international students is off-setting the tuitions of American students and funding financial aid etc. But is it really? I mean, do international tuitions directly off-set the price of tuition for American students? Can someone cite the evidence for this? Somehow I thought most financial aid was funded by endowment which is not the same as incoming tuition.

And this shows how you know pretty much nothing about higher ed financing in the States.

A federal judge issued an injunction that student visa holders cannot have their visas revoked until the case is over.

If a judge can keep visas from being revoked, then Trump should respond by not issuing any more visas.

Why should our president act like a spoiled toddler instead of like a statesman and leader of country? What is the reasoning for that?

dp: Look at you throwing around labels--with no substantiation whatsoever.

I think you illustrated the dynamic PP was describing.

Right...like this admin is known for strong arguments.

If this admin thinks there is a problem with US students losing out to international students, then in-state students have an argument that they are losing out to full-pay out of state students.

Imo they are scammers when they are tax exempt and screw Cambridge and Boston out of badly needed tax revenue. As example of their total greediness have gone to sports events there and their athletic program is like a good prep school they have the gall to charge $20 bucks for parking. Total ripoff of American taxpayers. Go Trump!

Funny, I don’t see this same level of vitriol pointed toward Trump charge the secret service that protects him to pay top dollar essentially fleecing the American taxpayers so he can constantly stay at his properties. Or making it more difficult because his wife doesn’t want to live with him. Or make a consistent set of policies so people and businesses can plan.

How many TROs does this administration have now?

They have a lot of trouble with impulse control.

And clearly don’t understand that the more the target Harvard the more it makes it apparent this is an vendetta and not a valid legal case.

Why? Because he’s crying so hard over Barron’s rejection? Barron who lives with his mommy and can turn on a computer?
